Celebrity Justice
Paris in Peril

Paris HiltonParis Hilton is "teetering on the brink."

Law enforcement sources have told TMZ that Hilton has been crying a lot, praying and extremely withdrawn.

Hilton is in the medical ward at Twin Towers, an L.A. County jail facility. She is in a room by herself with a glass door. For her protection, a sergeant guards the door at all times.

We're told Hilton hasn't eaten or slept since she arrived yesterday.

Sources have described her condition today as "fragile" and "despondent." One source called her "a train wreck" while another said she is "sullen and withdrawn."

We've learned her shrink, Dr. Charles Sophy, spent more than two hours with her this morning. Hilton's family can't visit today. In the medical ward, families can only visit on Sundays and Tuesdays.

We're told Hilton is receiving "appropriate medical attention." We're told she's being given psychotropic medication.

1576. Poor thing. The world just simply doesn't realize that she isn't SUPPOSED to go to jail, and can't handle it. Bah.

1578. Waaaaaaaaah I have to go to jail because I broke the law,
Waaaaaaaaah I am a drunk driver and don't care about anyone but myself,
Waaaaaaaaah I have money and I should get special treatment
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I hope you come out a mental case and you become totally disfunctional!
Spoiled brat!

I'd spend 45 day in your kind of jail just for the opportunity to teach you a lesson!

1580. even if Paris was going to be release because of over- crowding, why did she go to the head of the line, there had to be other women there ahead of her

1581. Babbs Your a freaken looney, go get your meds upped. It's people like you and Paris that give this country a bad name and a place in the hall of Sham. Paris is where she is because of her own dumb lack of self control and because she FINELY found out that MONEY can't buy you EVERYTHING. Shes better learn to get her crap togther before the judge orders her to the county Mental ward. THATS aplace she will NOT want to be as THATS where she WILL be in real danger.

1583. The judge has restored my faith in the legal system. The little spoiled brat is where she belongs. Every action has consequenses and money should not be used to help Paris avoid the consequences of her drunken driving. She could have killed my child or yours. Hell, she could have killed any of those persons who feel sorry for her. When driving under the influence, you do not know what you are doing. She deserves to be where she is! TLT

1584. What the hell? She can't do 45 effing days in jail?

1585. DUI should be recategorized as a violent offense and drunks should be kept in lockup for their entire sentence, where they can ponder the consequences of their lack of self-control and respect for the lives of others. When someone who is drunk climbs behind the wheel of a car, the vehicle becomes an uncontrolled WMD. Drunk drivers are NOT non-violent offenders by any stretch of the imagination, Sheriff Baca! Apparently, Judge Sauer recognizes this fact.

1586.
Babbs, Is paris paying you? What have you been smoking?
She needs to take responsibility for her actions. Jail might do her some good.
She needs to realize that there are rules that we all need to follow. She is not special than the rest of the word. She needs to stop crying and man up and accept her punishment.

1587. I feel so sorry for her. She has been placed in a hostile environment and is a pawn of the Sheriffs dept and the Judge. If she has medical needs those needs need to be taken care of asap by the correctional facility. I know she will power thru these trials and tribulations.

1588. I'm darned sick about hearing old, repetitive news about Paris Hilton!!! Shut up already unless you have some new news. I'm also disappointed that major news networks are not gathering their own information on Paris. Instead, everyone is repeating information put out by TMZ.com. Come on! Harvey Levin is on record talking about how poor Paris is being mistreated. Well, boo hoo. Harvey claims that nobody gets 45 days for a DUI. Well, wake up Harvey. She has multiple violations including driving without a license, etc. I think Harvey Levin is sympathetic to Paris because she is the goose that laid the golden egg for TMZ.com. They're making a bundle out of her notoriety. Come on news networks, do your own independent, unbiased reporting.

1589. I'm sorry, but if I'm not mistaken, incarceration is not supposed to be
fun. It's called punishment, it has been around for thousands of years, and is meant to make people think twice.

There are literally millions of people incarcerated around the
world in conditions that are truly deplorable.

Getting two hours withyour own personal shrink is hardly deplorable. What is misplaced is all the attention this whimpering upper class snob is getting when there are so many other critical issues facing humanity. American society is completely warped if they think this is a tragedy.

Give me a frigging break.
