Celebrity Justice
Paris in Peril

Paris HiltonParis Hilton is "teetering on the brink."

Law enforcement sources have told TMZ that Hilton has been crying a lot, praying and extremely withdrawn.

Hilton is in the medical ward at Twin Towers, an L.A. County jail facility. She is in a room by herself with a glass door. For her protection, a sergeant guards the door at all times.

We're told Hilton hasn't eaten or slept since she arrived yesterday.

Sources have described her condition today as "fragile" and "despondent." One source called her "a train wreck" while another said she is "sullen and withdrawn."

We've learned her shrink, Dr. Charles Sophy, spent more than two hours with her this morning. Hilton's family can't visit today. In the medical ward, families can only visit on Sundays and Tuesdays.

We're told Hilton is receiving "appropriate medical attention." We're told she's being given psychotropic medication.

76. I think someone should answer the door. I ordered pizza an hour ago but I cannot get out of from underneath the bed. I can hear the radio playing and it is an old song from the 50s. Doe anyone have the long lost tbalets of MU? Or a good recipe on how to cook bison?

77. Paris is not having a meltdown--she's having a tantrum. A tantrum that worked and got her sprung the first time around, until someone had the sense to say WTF?

Paris is freaking out in prison. Well, folks, I think that is kind of the whole point of jail--it sucks! You are supposed to not like it there, you are supposed to be humbled and have a come to Jesus moment. It ain't supposed to be Parq.

78. What a little cry baby. Paris is nothing more than a spoiled whore who isn't getting her way, so she's all depressed. BOO WOO. CRY ME A RIVER. I had a family member killed by a drunk driver, her twin sister still cries today, almost 20 years after the death of twin. When you see a family member depressed and cry for years after losing someone close to them from a drunk driver then you can say this isn't fair, poor little Paris, she didn't do anything wrong, yeah right.

My cousin was killed at the age of 18 driving home from college for Thanksgiving break. And you people who say Paris didn't hurt anyone, total BS. Every time my cousin hears a story like this, she feels the pain all over again.

So all you people who feel sorry for Paris sicken me, why don't you take the time to feel sorry for all the people and families who have lost a loved one to a drunk driver.

79. They should free Paris NOW!

She should be released, forgiven for all crimes (past and future), and be given whatever she needs (or wants). She is vital to the Los Angeles economy- nightclubs are teetering on the verge of bankruptcy! And with her in Jail and Lohan in rehab, the paparazzi has been forced into taking pictures of tea cups, pretty flowers and Pauly Shore!

If she is not released soon, little girls will not have a good role model to look up to. They might start reading books, wearing underwear, and listening to their parents. They may even start eating their dinners! How can society survive?!?!?

Can't this judge see that Paris IS more important than the law...

He's so mean!

80. You know, if only she had attended one little educational course and used a dab of the family millions to hire a driver, we would not be having this discussion.

82. i work with severally and persistantly mentally ill adult population in ohio. in my course of work i deal with clients who are sent to jail by the judge. when the prisoner gets to jail they are seen by the jail psychiatrist (remember these people can' pay to have their own psychiatrist come to them in jail, lol) and assessed. if they are suicidal or deemed a danger to themselves or others, the psychiatrist will ask judge to have client sent to state hospital. once they receive treatment (drug or other therapy) they are shipped back to jail to serve remainder of sentence. paris is, albeit a poor one, an actor. plus, you can't tell me she wasn't rattled by jail. when she got home she probably poluted her body with oxycotin or other drugs to "take the edge off" or to celebrate her release. she is for sure going through some kind of withdraw issues, ha ha. pathetic!

83. The Justice System is a disgraceful joke.

Justice may be blind...
but it sure loves money.

If Paris wasn't so in the spotlight,
she never would have served time.
It's only because we're all watching,
that they have to ignore the influence peddlers
and put her in a cell.

84. How much was she crying when she was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with "I am Paris Hilton and I can do what I want?"

85. So Paris has realized that jailtime is difficult? What a revelation. She didn't know this prior to going? Her shrink, lawyers and family didn't prep her? Or perhaps they spent all their time telling her that surely she'd get out of it. Maybe she's been told too many times, "What do you think they're going to do to PARIS HILTON?"

So actually, I blame her inner-circle for not being real with her (but then again, is anyone within her inner-circle, in touch with reality as the other 99.9% of the population would know it)?

Clearly she's long had emotional and mental problems. She might not have disclosed that when entering the jail the first time and so she didn't have her meds. And med withdrawl can spike anxiety attacks, etc.

And now the world knows she's on psychiatric drugs and so her "secret" is out. But even that is sad since she's obviously ashamed of having mental health problems. A perfect little princess (approaching 30) doesn't have MENTAL PROBLEMS.

Maybe this will be a break through for Paris - getting REAL about who and what she is (its long overdue).

The real test of Paris Hilton though will be when she's finally released. What sort of life will she return to and what sort of a person will she be or become? If she returns to the DUI life, all her pity party crying now will demonstrate itself to have meant nothing and to have not been for real.

KATHY HILTON must step out of her ADULT daughter's life. She's not helping her daughter. She's unable to be a mother to her younger son. KATHY Hilton had better realize that problems stem from HER and her weak husband. THEY need to get their act together. Otherwise, Paris and their other children will always be f'd up.

A super rich Hilton who never graduated HIGH SCHOOL who is now 26 and in JAIL? That's a failure by any standard. Paris is an adult and must change. But she'll never be able to change as long as she has an intrusive, overly-domineering mother and a weak, weak, WEAK father.

It all stems from there and the rest - the friends, the partying, the ANGER ISSUES, the social and person irresponsibility, the drinking, the depression, the pills, the inability to follow through, the failure to truly succeed AS A PERSON all flows from there.

Extreme narcissism often is an expression of very low self-esteem, Paris knows the potholes in her life. And as an aging pre-teen (mentally and emotionally), she needs to start working on herself as a HUMAN BEING.

If she ever drives DUI ever again in her life, she's either full of crap NOW or again a victim of the users and losers who surround her.

87. This media circus has to stop, Paris is a NOBODY! Is anyone concerned about the war, our troops are in harms way. Our military soliders are dying everyday, soliders are coming home wounded and there isn't one ounce of MEDIA COVERAGE! What The Hell Has Happened to America? Concern over Paris, it's downright sick! SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!

88. The very act of driving drunk is a crime, whether or not you injure someone. You are guilty of a crime pointing a gun threatening someone without even pulling the trigger. How much injury do I have to sustain by a drunk driver to satisfy you? She is as guilty of putting life at risk as one drink drivers, speeders, and red light runners. Fortunately she had luck on her side and missed striking a person or an animal. She is so weak she would probably ned a straightjacket if she hit and killed a child, an old person, or a dog.

89. Of all people that shouldn't think they're above the law- namely a trust-fund baby with no empathy for anybody or anything but herself- she should serve as an example to overly entitled Hollywodd assholes- and should get the same treatment as any other drunk driver who chooses to ignore the conditions of their probation. She could actually have done time for the DUI, but NO- that doesn't happen to Paris Hilton- we're above all that.

Apparently you can only push certain judges so far before they decide it's time to put the smackdown on her snotty ass.

anybody with a narcissistic personality disorder would be in a "fragile" state right now. Man up, girl, and listen to Candy Spelling- you're not eighteen any more- grow up and assume responsibility for your sloppy, stupid actions.

90. People keep forgetting one thing - the judge didn't impose this sentence. She and her lawyer AGREED to this sentence as a part of a plea deal. If she's mad, she should be mad at her lawyer.

As for the overcrowding issue, is at the time the sheriff released her, he had said, he was doing it because of the overcrowding, there wouldn't be an issue. He said he let her out cause she had medical problems. LOTS of prisoners have medical problems and they serve their sentences in the medical unit.

As for being depressed, well, I'm thinking a lot of people in jail are depressed. I'm sure the ones on death row are depressed, but I don't see the sheriff letting them out.

Clearly the girl doesn't get it. The first thing she did when she got out was to start planning a party at her house. Doesn't show a lot of remorse.

BTW, there are people in my city doing six months jail time for a first offense driving under suspension. 45 days is a walk in the park.

Last, this isn't about a one time infraction by Paris. This was the third time. One was the reskless operation citation. Two was the citation for continuing to drive under suspension. Three, she got caught AGAIN driving under suspension. She refused to believe that the law applied to her and the judge decided to give her a wake up call.

I feel NO sympathy for the girl. Suck it up!
