Paris HiltonParis Hilton has issued the following statement:

"Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge's decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff's concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.

As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.

I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world."

2087. I'm trying not to say rotton thinhgs about Paris anymore, there is no point, but when I read these posts from people like Beverly Hills, I get mad. I live in Michigan, a gorgeous state, a "fly over" state as you like to say. I have no desire to live in NY or Cal, and be a pretentious, snotty person. If you like being that way, have at it, honey. We are real people, and certainly the majority of the USA. If you acctually believe your better than us because of where you live, then you are as you like to say "trailer trash" yourself. People are people, good or bad. Regardless of the amount of $$$$ you have. Your either nice or ya ain't, honey!

2088. RE Jessica Smith. Your Ignorance really really shows in your Comments!!!! My son was put in Jail for almost the exact same thing as Little Miss Paris, and I do Love him, and that is why I would NOT have tried to get him off. I Love him enough to hope he learns a lesson so next time he does not kill an Innocent person or himself. I want him to be a Productive ,Adult, not a Clueless ,Little, Idiot, like Paris. So go watch some more "Simple Life" while you work on your GED you Little Moran!!!!!!

2090. Oh please, give me a break! If Paris Hilton would ever write any kind of statement about her time in the clink, it would probably read more like this: 'Hey! I'm , like, really trying to learn something here...and stay hot at the same time of course. I'm surprised that I'm getting this much attention but you know how I loves it! I think that the troops in Iran and Africa, though, deserve a little attention, too....cuz they're fighting at all that...and THAT is hot!'

2091. #2407-exactly! The crux of this whole joke of a story is, drunk driving, which my son also got 1, and received 10 days in jail for. Right from the start! I didn't help him in any way, other than to pick him up when he got out, and drive him to probation when his license was suspended! So what's so wrong with doin 23 days for REPEATED offenses? She's puttin on a big act, and got her way, cuz of who she is. She is now in a completely different part of the prison, much more comfortable I suspect, and drugged up! Paristhrew herself in front of the camera a zillion times, so therefore, her ludacris actions are subject to judgement.

At least someone realizes that her troubles have been blown so far out of proportion with our blood thirsty public and media that doesn't care about anything other than celebrities getting dragged through the mud. It's ironic that she (Miss Hilton) is the one to set the country straight......let her deal with her issues, leave her alone, and focus on real issues (ie: war, taxes, illegal immigration, diseases, hunger, common courtesy, alternate gasoline, violence, etc etc etc). There's a fine line between loving celebrities and escaping reality through them and becoming so obsessed that people know and care more about celebrities' personal lives than they do their own friends/family lives.

2093. Dear Paris, I too was a troubled young man when I was your age and wished that someone had done to me what that judge did to you. But' alas I was given a pass every time and never really grew up and understood the magnitude of misdeeds until I was older.
Furthermore, the behavior you have been displaying was a clear and evident cry for help. I can't begin to fathom what life is like being a celebrity but, I do know what it is like to have an extremely successful parent that you must follow in the footsteps of. Instead of running from it embrace it like Donald Trump' s daughter.
It's never too late to grow up and perhaps this will put the brakes on your wreckless path of self destuction.
