Lets Get This Party Started
Paris -- "I Used to Act Dumb"

Paris Hilton got on the horn with Barbara Walters yesterday, and told her that she felt "caged" in jail, but said that she's tired of playing "dumb" and that "God has given me this new chance."

"Good Morning America" reports that Babwa was on the phone with Paris' mom Kathy when Paris called in on the other line -- and said she wanted to talk to Walters directly. So Paris called her collect in New York, and they had a brief chat. Among the highlights: "I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. ... It was a horrible experience." More details of the conversation will be unveiled on "The View" later.

And in case you missed it over the weekend ... TMZ told you that Paris won't appeal her sentence, that she was "teetering on the brink" and "depressed" on Saturday while in jail, and, yesterday, that all she's eating is cereal and bread, but that she's feeling better on her meds. Check back for more Paris all day long.

More Paris -- Peeps Get Express Check-in, At-Home Spray Tans?

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton's sister Nicky and her ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos paid a visit to the world's most famous inmate yesterday, but some non-VIP visitors are bellyaching that that they got unfairly express treatment.

Nicky and Stav saw Paris for about half an hour, reports the New York Post, but only had to wait about 15 minutes -- whereas other, less exalted visitors had to wait two to four hours. "This isn't right," said one woman, who had waited for four hours. "We take off our Saturdays and Sunday to come here and do this."

In other Paris news, Usmagazine.com reports that Paris had an at-home spray tan session from Portofino Sun Spa during the day she was home to get back some color after her first three days inside. "She was in a great mood and so happy to be home," says an Us source.

Did Ryan Blame Simon for "Idol" Ratings Drop?

Ryan Seacrest says that "American Idol" took a ratings hit this season because there's just too much Simon Cowell. When asked about the ratings drop, reports the Globe and Mail (via MSNBC), Seacrest said, "Well, the knee-jerk reaction would be Simon. Clearly, there's an oversaturation of his character." (Somehow, we don't think he's being exactly serious.) Ryan also pointed out that ratings are still sky-high and that any suggestion that there's going to be a judge change is total bunk. "That's clearly rumor, I'm positive you can't recreate the chemistry that we have with the group on 'American Idol.'"

Party Favors: Real Madrid to Beckham -- Not So Fast! ... When Mad McPhans Attack! .... Fans on "Sopranos" End -- Fuhgeddaboudit!

Could David Beckham be staying in Spain a bit longer than he'd like? Real Madrid head honcho Ramon Calderon says he's going to "do all we can to make him stay," instead of letting him play for the L.A. Galaxy later this summer. ... A DJ in Washington D.C. is getting deluged with hate mail after his intern tried to do an interview with Katharine McPhee and it went very, very badly, reports The Scoop. Things took a turn for the worse when Ally (the intern) asked about McPhee's older boyfriend. ... Critics and fans everywhere are weighing in about "The Sopranos" series finale, and the verdict is -- no, we won't spoil what happens -- ... What the hell was that? Did the cable go out?

121. Her lifestyle, initiated by her parents, is a from a perspective of a pampering and self-importantance completely enabled by those paid to "care" for her, and the "frienemies" she surrounds herself with. To "get real" she'll have to rid these people from access to her life and begin to "see" herself without the rose-colored glasses and the "blinders" she's worn all her life. Not impossible, but - in her case - highly unlikely. Hopefully, I'm wrong, - but it'll take about a year or two of her towing the line of respectability to earn her that respect from society, at-large. She's burned her own bridges, only she can rebuild them.

122. 55. Kathy Hilton and Barbara Walters friends? Please give us some credit.
I feel for the families who had to stand in line for hours, and then have Nicky and
ex Stavros walk right on in to see Paris in 15 min. I have never been a true fan of
Sharpton, but I hope he socks it to Lee Baca today, and uses this as an example of
the pampering treatment the celebrites get --(until Judge Sauer sent Paris back to
serve her time) and the special treatment most have had in the past with the LA County
Judicial System.

123. You know jails not a bad place it's what we do to recieve the punishment, now maybe she can Paris Hilton can learn from this and let this be a lesson to all who admire her.

Lets see in my County of Ventura ,California my first offense D.U.I. was two day's in jail and 36 months probation. Then after two driving on susspended license citations they gave me 60 day's in jail 30 day's for each offense and I got 20 day's of for good behavior.

Then after that I missed two classes of DUI school so probation sent me back to court and I was violated 30 day's and served out 20 day's and 10 credit's for good behavior. My probation was revoked and reinstated at that time and started all over again. now I was on probation for over two years and still had two years of probation left for the 36months they had inittially given me, keep getting violated and they add more probation by revoking it. This will keep you in Venturas legal system for ever if you keep offending and in this county every misdemenor violation is punishable to a max of 1year or minimum of 30 day's it's up to the judge.

Next I missed a probation appointment because my job sent me out of town the same day I was to meet with my probation officer so again I was sent to court with another violation and the judge gave me 30 day's plus another 30 day inhansement for repeated violations or my prior violations so I did 40 day's out of 60 day's.

So for all the whinners out there whinning about the severity of the sentence count Parises blessings she wasn't caught in Ventura County cause in Ventura they dont have overcrowding, well yes they do but as long as they have a spot on the floor bi enough for a mattress guess what your gona serve out what the judge imposses. Also I was violated later for not being able to pay my fine of $800.00 and given 30 for violation plus 10 days for th fine and I served 25 out of that.

So if i'm correct I spent over 100 day's for a first offence DUI withseveral violations. So Paris sweety you gt off lucky and stay out of any city north of malibu otherwise you will be in my county and you don't want to come here cause Ventura County is notoriouse for maxing people out on every violation the county is money hungry and the state will pay them to wherhoues people. Oh and if you have mental issues they also have a very good place to house them too, no fun here no early kicks here or any place north of here.

The laws are also tougher today my first offense was in 1985 that was 22 years ago when that happen to me and the time for offenders has increased since then.

Well God bless you Paris and I hope you learned your lesson yor only humen like the rest of us and yor celebrity statise should not get yo any perferred treatment. I thyink thye judge was write and the Sherrif was wrong.

124. Carsten Overgaard- I can appreciate that you have a difference of opinion on jails, and that in part may be cultural. Whatever the reason though, I am still of the philosophy that prison or jail shouldn't be nice or entertaining. It is meant to be a punishment. You are not supposed to want to go back there. It would be unfair to give a convicted criminal a better place to live than any homeless person could hope for. I personally would rather see my money go to the homeless, and building them homes and shelters, than to making sure inmates can share a bed with their spouse or lover, and seeing that they are comfortable and entertained.

May I ask what your comment on the mentally ill has to do with the war? I am uncertain as to the correlation you’re trying to make. I have an issue with how our country treats the mentally ill as well, and the stigma of mental illness that is still in our country. We are working on that, and no country is perfect, not even yours. It's just that your country isn't even near as big as ours is, it is only about double the size of one of our states, Massachusetts. So you cannot expect our social problems to be solved as easily.

Also, I do not see how the issue of mental illness relates to your country's pull out of its troops. Are you speaking of war crimes related to mental illness? If you are speaking with regard to the comments here on Paris Hilton's treatment in the jail ward for the mentally ill, I agree that some of the posters are being rude with their comments that the ward is, "special treatment". Please don't pull our troops or the war into this though. I am against the war, but very proud of our troops who are doing their best despite a President which I am unhappy with, as are many in our country. I would love to see them come home, but for to talk with glee about them being exposed to more bombs as a result of your country's pull out is just disgusting. I wouldn't wish that on anyone in any country! Either you do not understand the English language well, and are not getting your point across well, or you are being as rude and unfeeling as you accuse others of being. Before pointing the finger at anyone examine your own heart.

125. 117. I heard on Headline News this morn that she told bw that she was 'tired' of 'playing' dumb and that it was no longer 'cute'.....'playing', don't think so...'cute', uh uh.....

126. Never thought she was dumb;

Just ignorant and undereducated.

127. "I used to act dumb"! Well, I guess if she was "acting" dumb she wouldn't be in jail would she? So this is her new public relations strategy.

128. IDOL's ratings dropped because they totally screwed up with Melinda Doolittle. The producers took her off the show because she was a little too old to win Idol(they didn't want another Taylor Hicks). Instead they let that no-talent, off-key loser Blake go up against a somwhat talented shouter Jordin. She is okay, but no one on the show could compare to Melinda.

The only judge change should be pillhead Paula Abdul. She is a waste of space, she never says anything remotely coherant and she too high to do anything but sit in her chair and babble.

129. I don't think ratings went down on American Idol because of Simon or any judge, but the ratings were down because people were frustrated with Sanjaya staying on and other's voted off who could sing. I feel something need to change with the voting, the judges should submit a vote too and average them, maybe like dancing with the stars.

I was truly disappointed this season with the results. I don't think Blake should be 1st runner up, nor do I think Jordan should be the winner, but in the top four. Hopefully, there will be changes next year, because I think the ratings will continue to drop, because there were some good vocals who didn't make it to the top 10.

130. SOPRANOS - Instead of the Black-Out Screen they gave us - they should have told us Last Week to make up our own ending!!! Essentially, that is what we are doing. What? Life goes on. Everyone is getting older. Family is the most important. All sins will be forgiven. What???

132.

There's only one thing i can think of that is worse than Paris acting dumb and that is Paris acting SMART !!

Oh no what monster have we created now ?

133. Paris didn't seem that dumb, but now that she's stumping for Jesus, she seems retarded.

Who's she trying to fool? Or is she paying a debt to the neocons by going along with the program?

Am also wondering when Barbara Walters is going to stop hiding that neocon tumor growing behind her right eyeball. That's karma. You play on the wrong team long enough and guilt starts to eat you alive.

Paris called the Oracle and had the Queen neocon mouthpiece relay the Good News that Paris loves God and the Iraq war. She wasn't exactly saying bring the soldiers home, she was saying think about the soldiers. A lot of good thinking about them will do, but thanks for the brilliant insight, Paris. We really needed that. Got any brilliant chapter-verse quotes to recommend that we might use to help us get through this Iraq prison sentence the nation is serving? Hey, don't worry about it, Barbara is paid to cheerlead for this war, we'll leave that up to her.

135. Ryan Seacrest is useless. A mediocre announcer who's got a few too many opinions. If I had to bounce anyone from that show, it would be him!
