53. I think that people who say comments like they say it to each other why can't we say it, do not have a real desire to understand the offense behind the word or just don't care. Do you realize that just under 40 yrs ago that blacks were oppressed in this country with that word being the number one used negative word to describe them by whites? That was'nt that long ago, which means parents and grandparents were around and present for that and effects of that are very much still fresh in the minds and attitudes of african americans. That word is going to be off-limits and should be for a while until this country heals from that ordeal.
