Opri to Birkhead -- You Done Me Wrong

Debra Opri railed on ex-client Larry Birkhead today, claiming that she got the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby a million-dollar media deal -- but didn't get bupkis.

Opri appeared via telephone on "The Big Story with John Gibson" and went wild, lashing out at Larry Birkhead, claiming he has publicly smeared her and has destroyed her "good name." Opri claimed she got Birk the baby and made him popular and she deserves to be paid.

Opri defended her humongous legal bill, saying she earned it. Last night on FOX's "On the Record," Greta asked Birkhead who he would like to have dinner with more -- Opri or Virgie Arthur. Birkhead replied that he couldn't afford to have dinner with Opri, so Virgie won by default.

18. Couldn't any lawyer with half a brain have gotten Larry the baby? I mean, a DNA test proved that he is her father. To act like she pulled off some phenom is lame. Also couldn't any dope have gotten him a media deal? It's not like everyone wanted to talk to him or anything. I'm sorry, but Larry just strikes me as someone who wanted his kid. Her spending habits are not his problem.

20. Boy, is Opri desperate for attention.......I thought she was representing Hasselhoff's wife now - maybe she'll charge her $600,000+ too.......I'm sure Birkhead wanted to pay her but not a King's ransom (and for her husband's dry cleaning no less...)

23. SHE didn't make the Birk popular. He is popular becasue he was the only sane person during the circus following Anna Nicole's death and during the court struggles to obtain custody of Danilyn. Anyone with 2 eyes could see he is the Daddy. He took the high road throughout, never putting anyone down and came across as very sincere. That is why he is popular.

24. Who knew who she was before the entire Anna Nicole Smith drama? Larry Birkhead would have received attention regardless of who his attorney was because people were interested in knowing who Anna Nicole's father was.

25. I WAS TOLD THAT OPRI WENT AFTER LARRY WHEN SHE LEARNED ABOUT THE WHOLE ANNA NICOLE MESS AND THE BABY. OPRI CONTACTED LARRY THRU AN MSNBC NEWSCASTER (RITA COSBY) SAYING SHE WOULD REPRESENT LARRY PRO BONO (NO CHARGE) FOR THE PUBLICITY EXPOSURE. SHE GOT IT, APPEARING ON EVERY TV SHOW AND MANY COURT PROCEEDINGS. THE BILL SHE PRESENTED LARRY WITH IS TOTALLY OUT OF LINE AND MANY CHARGES ARE OUTRAGEOUS. SHE LOST THE RESPECT I INITIALLY HAD FOR HER AND I SUSPECT MANY OTHERS FEEL THE SAME.

27. I saw her on TV with Larry stating that she was taking his case "pro bono". Where is the tape of that? Don't pay her Larry she is a liar. How can any reputable lawyer state in front of the world she is doing it for free and then not only send a bill but send such an outrageous one. I hope he wins and she has to pay him! I hope you are watching the sharks more carefully now Larry!

Who would ever hire an attorney that broke the client relationship as she did when she went on CNN 24 hr news and said Larry is unethical and wants to do illegal things, and he is making deals with Howard. After that larry took the gloves off and put out the bill she sent him. I am glad he is suing her. Her bill is way over charging. She is going to play hell to get any high profile clients in LA again. Nobody would hire an attorney that has done what she has done. First off no one in their right mind will pay what she is charging, and not for the lobster or her husband way either. I think she is not all there anyway. And her keeping his money, when he said no is wrong. I hope she is disbarred.
