Scary Spice's Kid -- Officially Named a Murphy

Eddie Murphy doesn't believe he's the father, but Scary Spice Melanie Brown gave her baby daughter the name "Murphy" anyway.

TMZ has obtained an official copy of a birth certificate for Mel B's daughter Iris-Angel Murphy Brown, born April 3 in Santa Monica, Calif., months after the former Spice Girl and the comedian split. Interestingly, the section that lists the child's father has been left blank.

Cameras caught Eddie at a Beverly Hills doctor's office Monday where he was reportedly undergoing a paternity test. The "Dreamgirls" star told Dutch TV in December that any assumption that Eddie was the little girl's dad was "presumptuous," adding "I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test."

A rep for Murphy refused to comment on the actor's personal life.

19. I can't help but notice that this woman had her child here in the states. Now that kid is a US citizen and has all the perks. Also makes it easier to squeeze the money out of Eddie.

21. Eddie Murphy is scum!

Very clear that he got this girl pregnant, and ran like a coward. I can understand why he didnt want this, after 5 kids and marriage, but he is a grown man, and knows how to prevent pregnancy.

Add a 6th child to you support payments, and keep your pants zipped.

26. His name is not on the birth certificate because the only way it gets put there is by the father - the mother cannot put the fathers name on the birth certificate if they are not married. Eddie would have to agree and say that he is the father to be put on the certificate.

I believe her too for some odd reaason. I believe they planned this baby as she said and I believe that she was unaware that her and Eddie were broken up until friends started telling her about his ignorant interview statement concerning the paternity of the child. With all that in mind, I also believe Eddie thinks she cheated on him which is why he dumped her suddenly. Tabloids were reporting as much around that time.
