Thousands Tell County -- What's the Deal with Paris?

A TMZ user fired off an e-mail to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, complaining re: Paris, "Money talks, regular folks stay locked up." Here's the response he got from the Sups:
LA County Seal, Paris Hilton
"Thank you for your note regarding Paris Hilton. We have received thousands of e-mails from members of the public on this matter. Please know that the Board of Supervisors shares your concerns and has asked Sheriff Lee Baca to make a public report next Tuesday, June 19. The Sheriff has been asked to provide the reasons for the premature release of Paris Hilton from the Sheriff's Century Regional Detention Facility, including the reasons for not placing her in an appropriate medical facility such as the jail ward of the LAC+USC Medical Center. As you may know, the Sheriff is an elected official, so the Board of Supervisors has limited authority over that department."

136. Mob mentality had nothing to do with Paris breaking the law and breaking her probation three times. I'll bet the mob didn't even know all the details.

Mob mentality had nothing to do with her court case. That was between the lawyers, Paris, and the judge.

Mob mentality had nothing to do with Paris freaking out in her private, special unit jail cell. That was probably a result of not being honest with the authorities about her drug use, legal or otherwise. And it was a result of her not being able to handle losing her freedom (otherwise called JAIL.).

Mob mentality had nothing to do with Paris going home to get spray tanned and start up party planning central. That was just Paris doing the only thing she apparently knows how to do.

Mob mentality had nothing to do with the judge ordering her to court and back to jail. That was a result of the judge refusing to be a pawn to celebrities and a sheriff who didn't know how to handle this situation. It resulted in a judge insisting his orders be followed, orders that Paris had agreed to.

So many excuses people are throwing around. And why are all those people in jail? For breaking the law. Rather than whine about fair or unfair treatment, perhaps the inmates will simply start obeying the law like the rest of us. It's pretty simple.

137. Carol V. is an idiot.

Paris was NOT prematurely released. She was reassigned to home detention. If she had been relased, she would be at home right now, as the judge would have had no power to order her back to jail.

Those talking heads are eating crow now! The Sheriff was right all along!

138. 125. In a press conference on Friday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca announced that the current policy for his Department is to jail nonviolent female offenders for approximately ten percent of their sentence. This directly contradicts the policy which Sheriff Baca and District Attorney Steve Cooley announced in November 2006.

In a press-release dated November 6, 2006, Sheriff Baca announced that the new policy of the department was to require all inmates to serve “at least 25 percent of their sentence before being eligible for release.”

That policy was suppose to be in effect at the end of 2006. Upon announcing the new policy District Attorney Cooley stated “I commend Sheriff Baca for implementing this new policy. This will assure that sentences imposed by the court will be carried out in a predictable and even-handed manner."

It appears however that Sheriff Baca is not following his own stated policy and is thus not imposing sentences of the court in a “predictable and even-handed manner.

SO true......AND now 2 Females released from Jail on Paris Hiltons "Loop" received ALL kinds of bonuses ! Doulble the food, free Doctors Visits that usually cost $3.00, hair conditioner, to mention a few ( I have a feeling Mosturizer MAY be included in the "Care Package". So.....Let me think about this.....IF one is fortunate enough to be locked up on Paris Hiltons "loop", "PAYDAY"! , at the TAXPAYERS expense!

WHO does BACA think he is BRIBEING these Woman with perks in order to, WHAT?, justify Hiltons treatment? What about the OTHER INMATES not fortunate enough to be Pariss' neighbour in County Jail? Are they not entilled as well to the "HILTON UPGRADE"? WHAT is this costing TAXPAYERS????????

139. My friend's daughter's father came to our work and punched her in the face. He was supposed to serve 30 days in jail but ended up only staying one night, due to over crowding. So, actually Paris is unlucky. If she was a regular person and kept in a regular cell, she may have been released early if space was needed.

140. Paris is a feeble sack of shit, for starters she claims to have coined the term "That's hot!" when I was as a surfer growing up in Santa Cruz CA using that with my friends all kinds. She's just lame, what do you expect, she was born into royalty, and has the whole deluded princess syndrome. Yes, I'm jealous, I wish I could've been born a Hilton. But at least I wouldn't have been a total douchebag show off.

146.
On the day he sought more jail time for Paris Hilton, Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo acknowledged his wife got a traffic ticket two years ago while driving with a suspended license. She received the ticket – and the $186 fine – for failing to obey a turn-only sign, but wasn't ticketed for driving with the suspended license).

147. in michigan if you get caught driving while license suspended 3 times in a year you go to countyj jail for a year , how in the @#$% did paris hilton only get 45 days, and then the funny thing is started crying and got out in 3 but had to finish out the rest of her days (not months) days if we the non-beautiful people did that they would pepper spray us and put us in solitary and add more time to our sentence. special treatment? you tell me. so being rich does buy everything i guess

148. Being wealthy does not make you evil. Paris was arrogant, so what? You haters are so messed up in the head. Wishing Paris cancer and death. What is wrong with you people? That is just hateful.........you do not know Paris.

Paris has learned her lesson, and her release is long overdue.

149. In the beginning I believed that Paris needed to be jailed and to hopefully learn a lesson. Since that time and from what I have learned, she has more than served a reasonable sentence.

I am sick of hearing the hatefulness that some of the bloggers are spewing out there. This is ridiculous. Paris needs to go home. Have you no compassion for another human being?

150. Paris should have been in Jail only 3 days like everyone else caught driving on a suspended DL. It would have been better if she got community service.

You Paris haters need to leave her alone. She is being treated worse than if she were poor. Let the girl out already. All this is... is political grandstanding by the Judge. And why the hell didn't they give her the drugs she needs. I think we need to investigate the Lynwood Prison to see what goes on over there to people who need medical attention.
I also what to know how this Judge has ruled in simular cases.
