Thousands Tell County -- What's the Deal with Paris?

A TMZ user fired off an e-mail to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, complaining re: Paris, "Money talks, regular folks stay locked up." Here's the response he got from the Sups:
LA County Seal, Paris Hilton
"Thank you for your note regarding Paris Hilton. We have received thousands of e-mails from members of the public on this matter. Please know that the Board of Supervisors shares your concerns and has asked Sheriff Lee Baca to make a public report next Tuesday, June 19. The Sheriff has been asked to provide the reasons for the premature release of Paris Hilton from the Sheriff's Century Regional Detention Facility, including the reasons for not placing her in an appropriate medical facility such as the jail ward of the LAC+USC Medical Center. As you may know, the Sheriff is an elected official, so the Board of Supervisors has limited authority over that department."

17. Okay, a rich white woman has now been used as an example to show no one is above trhe law due to money, fame, whatever, That is fair, Now lets see a famous black person be used as an example to show no one is above the law because they scream "racism" because they are black. Im sick of blacks getting away with everything, no matter what they do wrong. From OJ Simpson to Brandy who killed somone while speeding, it is the same old whiny crap every time a black person who is famous gets nailed. Micheal Jackson included. If this country and the world is to be equal, it means no one gets preferential treatment, period, Now lets see black people be treated this same way as Paris, and we'll be okay.

19. TMZ...How come you did not report or mention of the LA times article that clearly points out that based on the last five years, Paris is doing more time in jail then crimminal convicted of robbery, assualt and domestic violence????

The sheriff followed protocol and everyone wants to hand him out to dty for the sake of controversy. This was a DUI case and a porbation viloation and she did the required time.

Let Paris out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

22. I got the same response today for an email I wrote to the Sheriff's Department. Paris just ruined it for all other trouble maker celebs (good!). She can add more enemies to her growing list!

27. Okay folks, I'm not into this Paris thing at all, but all the bad-mouthing of a public official who was doing his job ... the same way it would have been done with anyone who was in his jail (or as much as was possible with this feeding-frenzy) is totally unfair. If you look at the jail stats, 80-90% of inmates placed there for non-violent crimes (i.e. dui, breaking probation in case you didn't know) were released after serving 10% of their sentence. If the people of California want inmates to actually serve more of their sentence ... they're going to have to agree to pay for the additional jail space. It's just that simple. Ms. Hilton hasn't been treated like everyone else ... she's been treated worse.

28. # 15, Don't you mean this is giving him AMPLE time, If you are going to use words over one syllable, do a spell check. And, #9, you're right, people should let this go, they've had a whole lot to say, about one little girl. I would like to see what kind of skeletons, they have in their closets. He who is without sine, Let them cast the first stone. Bunch of hypocrits, she has money, and you don't!!
