Alaina Alexander's Gay Pride

Alaina AlexanderIn time for worldwide gay pride celebrations, "American Idol" wannabeen Alaina Alexander has written an original song to accompany a video, "Life Interrupted," which shows the faces and names of victims of gay bashing and other hate crimes, including two teenage victims recently hanged in Iran.

The victims include heterosexuals who lost their lives to homophobia.

Check out Alaina's anthem here.

16. I thought it was a great tribute. The problem was the pictures and names of victims moved way too fast. It should have been slowed down so that you could actually feel the tribute to the victims.

17. EXCUSE ME!?? did you guys SEE the video??? 99% of it was in AMERICA!! there was 1 scene with Iran in it and you guys are channeling the whole thing towards Iran. Dont you see how hypocritical you are being when you say that when Iran kills 2 gay guys thats bad but when you say to 'NUKE THEM' its killing millions of innocent people that is FAR worse! THe way some gay people are killed in America in the deep south by the kkk is FAR more brutal than a hanging. Dragging people on the backs of cars, torturing them for hours...EVEN IN AMERICA THEY STILL LYNCH PEOPLE. you guys are brain washed by the propaganda if you really beleive that All iran does is hang gay people. Obviously sean penn and Rosie doesnt support the iran that hangs people, for the same reason he doesnt support the america that killed all those other gay people in the video. Iran is an incredible country. Do research guys. dont be idiots. Just cuz some village decided to hang people doesnt mean the entire country is like that. Iran and America are alot more alike than you think, they're both countries who are being RULED by governments that DO NOT represent the people. Alaina Alexander would be ashamed by all you people who think youre supporting her because she didnt want to evoke the same feelings of hatred in her fans that she is campaigning against in her video. OPEN YOUR EYES!

19. Only the Republicans cared about the Iranian gay teens at the time. The LEFT as usual cast a blind eye because they "love" Muslims.

20. #19 Cheyanne,

You are 100% correct. American citizens young and old are still being murdered becaue of their sexual orientation. I'ts time for us as a society to wake up and realize that we are ALL in this together. Freedom is for All people and living one's life free of prosecution for who we love is not right. As long as people are consenting adults there should be no issue period.

22. To the last poster I think its because this is government led homophobia, certainly in the UK and probably the US and Canada homosexuality is not a crime and a crime toward homosexuals like killing them is viewed very seriously and the perps are incarcerated. However the Iranian case is more abhorrent cos there is a govt persecuting & murdering people for being gay, I have been horrified by this all day, I knew about this but I never saw any footage, seeing that footage posted by someone in comments early on, and the link to the Youtube video http://youtube.com/watch?v=2dgsZYA1mPY really shocked me. Hatred like this is awful illegal and in the Iran case - legal hatred and ultimately torture then death.

25. number 25 great argument! i totally agree and that makes perfect sense and youre right that IS the difference between the ones in america and in iran and government lead hatred and killing is an awful thing. I hope that people see the relation between your argument (government lead hatred/killings in iran) and whats going on in america today. what is shown in iran is NOT any different than the american government lead propaganda, brainwashing, and killing of millions of iraqis, afghans, and who knows WHAT else in the middle east. people are posting things saying that they hate muslims and they should be nuked (obvious sign of the american government brain washing) how is that any different than the iranian government leading the iranians against gays? and once again i'd like to say that the POINT OF THE VIDEO STILL ISNT THAT IRAN DOES GAY KILLINGS! its just that gays shouldnt be killed...and people shouldnt have feelings of hatred towards others who are different than them.

27. Please don't paint all Christian's with such a broad stroke with regard to a stance on homosexuality. You can be a Christian, disapprove of homosexuality, and still love people who are homosexuals, I do. I have a relative who is gay, and two friends. I am a Christian who follows the Bible and doesn't approve of the sexual acts that go along with homosexuality, but I still love gay people, all people for that matter. I am commanded to love my neighbor as myself, and I try and live by that. To me it's no different than any other friend of mine, or myself for that matter, who has sin in their life. I would hope my friends wouldn't hate me for sinning, but rather let God take care of my sins and pray for me. I am APPAULED and DISGUSTED by hate crimes against homosexuals and if any of those committing those crimes of hate are saying they are Christian, they are not! Jesus would NEVER do something so horrible. He always hated the sin, never the sinner.

28. More gay people die because of religion more families who have gay sibilings lose thier family members due to being brainwashed form Religion many gays even commiting suicide religion has no say in government seperation of church and state is needed.

I have embraced many cultures and really consider myself to be quite diverse but question that raised me to believe that If the Curan was not allowed in the US since the bible is not allowed in the middleeast what kind of protest would we get from them here.

It is a right to have your beliefs in religion in the middleast only you cant practice any other than Islam can someone explain whats wrong with this picture?

29. @32 so if a heterosexual couple have an*l sex then you disapprove? Or you don't know? I think this love the sinner hate the sin is BS in my opinion.
Homosexuality is victimless for the most part (like heterosexuality) obviously not taking sex crimes into consideration therefore there is NO sin, why can reliogious types not concentrate on sins where there was a crime, instead of poking their noses in private affairs?

30. @33 I dunno about in your country but we have several gay politicians - openly in relationships with their partners so in very high positions here in the UK, and I know other Northern and Western European countries have too, so I do take your points and yes there is some homophobia too here but its really not common. Ignorance gets everywhere sadly.
