Celebrity Feuds
Jolie Flustered by FOX Flurry

Click to return to TMZ.comNo one puts Angelina Jolie in a corner and makes her squirm -- except, perhaps FOX News -- which wanted to know exactly why they were banned from covering the premiere of Jolie's latest flick, "A Mighty Heart."

In this clip obtained by TMZ, a FOX reporter quizzes Angie about it, right on the streets of Manhattan as she made the rounds shilling for "Heart." Jolie, initially a bit flustered -- as much by the question as the insane storm of autograph seekers -- admitted afterward that her treatment of FOX and the infamous contract her reps tried to force on journos was "excessive."

46. Look at the nonsense Americans worry about. You are spoon fed this crap to keep your eyes off of the real problems that risk your liberty.
Namely, AIPAC's wholesale purchase of the Democrats (including Pelosi), and their brethren behind the scenes of ALL of this garbage that you consider newsworthy.
Our country is now fully under the control of a foreign nation and it's being done with such finesse that not one in 10 of you chumps can name it.

49. About time someone told Fox to stick it. At least she was straight up and honest about it.

50. I don't think we have anything to worry about when it comes to her "blockbuster" movie due out next week. The critics have already panned it........her phony accent is pathetic. I think her acting career is finished.

51. 'An article on the subject appearing on FoxNews.com sarcastically quips, “Reporters Without Borders, indeed,” as if Reporters Without Borders’ sole concern is whether or not the press can ask personal questions of celebrities. It is insulting to Daniel Pearl that the press would invoke his name and the circumstances of his tragic death in conjunction with something so inconsequential, and arrogant of Fox News to align their situation with his, especially considering that they were able to attend after all.'

'According to the contract put forth by Jolie’s lawyers, questions directed at the actress should be about the movie, and really, they should be anyway. Perhaps Jolie and her “people” just wanted to make sure that the premiere was handled in the media with the same seriousness with which the film itself handles real issues regarding journalism and personal loss.'

Well said. FOX is one of the most pathetic excuses for so-called journalism. They're not interested in "Fair and Balanced" news; they don't even known what that means. If I were in Jolie's position, I'd ban their a*sses as well. Freedom of speech is important in our country and so is freedom of choices. So they didn't get an initial invite.....tsk, tsk, that is so unfair. But I'll gladly make it up to them and invite them to my own personal premiere....of the FOX News roast dinner. Jolie's mistake was being polite to them when they wanted to know why they were banned. She should have told them the truth, that they are hypocritical *sswipes.

And they got their panties all in a wad because she had her lawyers set-up a contract on what could be asked...namely no personal questions and that it should be directed at the movie...at it's premiere. Well that's ridiculous. Not only does Jolie have a right to use a contract for interviews, it is certainly not uncommon for celebrities to do so - including before agreeing to attend a talk show interview where the focus is mainly on that person, not nec. even a movie. If the interviewer doesn't like it (the contract) ahead of time, he/she doesn't have to do the interview. No one is holding a gun to their head....or as in Pearl's case, cutting off their heads.

Thanks Mary for the article.

52. Yea Yea Yea. She got caught in her hypocrisy and now she's apologizing. Like this really means anything. She's still the same liberal, biased, intolerant person she was before.

53. Who is Jolie, anyway? Should we really care about what she and Brad believe about anything? I don't. If everybody would get a life, they would go away. I called the Rosie O. meltdown and flight from "the View'. I'm correct on this one, also. Trust me. Ignore them and they will disappear.

55. As a registered democrat I'm insulted every time I hear people trashing Fox news. Fox have the right to showcase their point of view. We don't live in Hitler's Germany, Cuba or Venezuela were the press only must show one point of view. That fascism!.
We need Fox like we need CNN, MSNBC, et, etc...It's call DEMOCRACY.- FREE PRESS.
Angelina Jolie made a big mistake and I think she already apologize for it. Is she sincere? Of course not, but what can you do? Kill the woman?

If she is as ignorant as I think she is, her true colors will show.- You can count on it!

56. To Morgan: - You don;t need a lot of credentials to be a UN Ambassador. Just a simple invitation. Shakira and a bunch of other celebrities are also embassadors. Don't forget that UN is now a corrupt organization that it's being investigated...So Angelina it's not really in a good company. ..I grant her....The woman it's better than Madonna inventing herself...In fact, she hates Madonna and trashed her, when Madonna adopted. I guess Miss Hollywood's mother Theresa wants to be the only one...Oh well...

59. It's funny how people who watch Fox News will swear up and down that it is balanced. I remember when I first watched it, I was nearly knocked over by the obvious right-wing agenda. Right wing authoritarianism doesn't know how to be "fair and balanced."

Fox News attacks celebrities all of the time because they are mostly presumed to be "liberal" (i.e., they seem to disagree with Fox News). In the clip, the reporter barked/asked why she banned Fox News and it sounded like a rhetorical question. It's pretty disturbing that "intelligent" people truly believe that Fox News is "fair and balanced." Where were the critics of the "liberal" media when the press allowed the president to be thrown softballs, were complicit in the lies regarding WMDs, agreed not to show the daily horror (not necessarily Abu Graib [sp?]) of the ware, etc.

Yes, they have a right to give their views. My problem with them is that they are ethically challenged enough to claim "fair and balanced" when a lobotomy patient can clearly see that they are a glaring tool of the right.
