Paris' mailbagCheck this out -- we found out Paris Hilton's manager was called by the Lynwood Jail today -- to pick up 20 crates of fan mail!

Us Magazine reports Paris has set an all-time record for inmate fan mail. A rep for the Sheriff's Department tells TMZ the amount of mail was well into the thousands and that it's on a big ass push cart.

But don't give Paris too much credit -- one of the reasons she's gotten so much mail is because most celebs (or ordinary folk) don't spend nearly the amount time in the pokey as Paris -- thanks to hangin' Judge Michael Sauer.

64. The good thing that came out this is what was always obvious but never said, that Paris Hilton was not well. That she was a sick girl all the way. In other words, a basket case. A rich, poor retarded girl. The dumb act is really not an act but the real Paris. What Babawawa said about this is Babawawa's words but not really the truth. Wait until Paris come out and I bet you that within a month she's out on the Discos, smoking weed and doing coke and drinking. You'll see and then I can say "I told you so".

68. TMZ, how much is the Hilton family paying you to write only positive things about Paris, and only negative things about the judge? Or are you doing it because you're whoring for an exclusive when she gets out?

I bet a lot of that mail is from religious fanatics who want to convert her, a lot of it is from people who disapprove of her shenanigans, and of course there is the inevitable pro-Paris mail from both of her fans. LOL

Insofar as the judge, I support him 100%. He wasn't giving her preferential treatment, and he didn't treat her worse than anyone else. He just saw a defendant with absolutely no respect for the law or for the court, and acted accordingly.

Had the Sheriff not put her on house arrest after only 3 days in jail, she'd be out by now due to overcrowding. While there may be some folks who wouldn't like it, most people wouldn't complain much if she had at least been there long enough to learn a lesson. Ten days sounds about right. Then, of course, there was the claim that she was too sick to be there from the time she arrived, when she had just walked the red carpet, smiling and posing and obviously fine, mere hours before turning herself in, and had actually posed for her mug shot.

So if you want to blame somebody for Paris still being in jail, blame the idiotic Sheriff for bringing so much attention to the case by disobeying a court order, and blame Paris for assuming that the public is stupid enough to fall for that obvious lie about her being unwell.
