Is Chris Matthews Full of S**t?

Click to return to TMZ.comMSNBC's Chris Matthews let the S-word slip out during yesterday's live showing of "Hardball" -- the second time this year Matthews "cursed" on the air.

Returning from a commercial break, Matthews apparently didn't know his mic was hot when cameras caught him saying to producers, "We're all reacting here, putting on s**t. We have nothing." He then quickly snapped back to reality and recovered with, "Welcome back to 'Hardball.'" Good cover.

Back in January, Matthews said "s**t" while conducting an interview, but laughed it off and quickly apologized.

S**t happens.

1. Tweety bird is in trouble but not over this. It's his man crush drooling over Fred Thompson that's raising the most eyeballs.

4. Of course nothing will happen. He's a left wing liberal host so they will probably give him a friggin humanitarian award. If it were a right wing conservative they would call for his head on a platter. True bias exists to the max in the media

5. Q: Is Chris Matthews full of s**t?

7. Who cares if he said it? I don't. I like Chris and if that's all he said so what. I like his show and it's a good one.

8. #9, you political raving wackjobs are scary as hell!!! Anyway, nothing will happen to this asshole. Since he's an anchor for MSNBC, he'll get away w/ this.

Posted at 12:49PM on Jun 21st 2007 by He should be reprimanded

9. I think Chris Matthews is one of the best things on MSNBC... in fact all of MSNBC from Contessa Brewer to Dan Abrams sitting in for Scarbourough. Even Tucker Carlson with his show Tucker is watchable. Then you have all the guests from NBC elsewhere Tim Russert, David Gregory, Tom Brokaw, etc. Fantastic Network!!! Making remarkable strides, love the commercial for the network that pikes CNN and FOX so well (how could anybody question the integrity of our commander in chief) subtle with great effect

Anyone who actually watches the show and the network knows what a genuine talent Chris Matthews is. He always has a seat at the "name five people to make the perfect dinner party" as far as I'm concerned.

Keep up the great work!

10. Chris Matthews will not get in trouble. A. He is on MSNBC and they have stated that they are going for the librel side so he is safe. B. Mr. Matthews is an ass and so he is loved by the lefties. C. He is mouth challenges because he spits on everyone and so with this disability he will get away with any words that come out of his mouth esp. if they are against anyone that is a conservative. So basically he is home free. Unfortunely I don't think very much of him and that is all that matters to me.

12. How come the MSNBC producers on that set never caught Chris Matthews swearing like that? They need to stay ALERT about outrageous things like that. Are they just lazy not keeping up with the control buttons in that studio? Chris does get hotheaded after heated conversations but I am surprised that no one bleeped his curse when he came back on the air? Makes you long for the days when they used to show the cameramen behind the cameras on most shows as the shows ended, but they don't have the time to and sign off in black.

13. Aw, geez, I've heard worse outside waiting to pick up my daughter....My 9-YEAR-OLD daughter. What's with the suddenly puritanical TMZ? I mean, Chris has never positioned himself to be better than anybody else. He's like the "every guy" you hear at a bar or in the stands of a baseball game chatting with his buddies between innings.

14. omg and all of the other facists:

Get a grip - I don't think there's a boatload of 6 year olds watching Hardball. You all want to censor anyone who doesn't agree with your point of view, while soaking up gossip on tmz and eating Krispy Kremes in front of the oversized TV you can't afford. If you don't like Chris Matthews, just don't watch! Go back to the Springer show where you belong.

15. Not to get too political, but if this had been O'Reily or Hannity. There would be 24-7 coverage on the 3 mains about how they need to be taken off the air for this profanity. Fines would be flying on FOX news and there would be people screaming from the roof tops that the FCC should take away their license.
Interesting, how the liberal guys always get away with murder and the conservatives get crucified.
What a load of crap.
