Celebrity Justice
NBC to TMZ -- How Dare You!

A rep with NBC told TMZ there was never anything to kill, because they never sealed the deal on a Paris interview.

Allison Gollust, Senior VP of NBC News Communications, told TMZ, "There's nothing to pull the plug on because we never committed to this."

But here's the deal. TMZ knows a producer was already assigned to the interview, which was supposed to air on "Today." Multiple sources tell us that camera people and associate producers were told to be ready, and that the piece would be shot in L.A. and edited in New York.

As TMZ first reported, honchos at the net told selected staffers today that the interview was dead. To that, Gollust said, "It can't be dead if it was never alive to begin with."

46. So let me get this straight, NBC. There was never a Paris interview scheduled, and the War in Iraq is a civil war. Okay, I got it now. Peter is calling, I have to go play in Never Never Land. Tooddles!

49. CANADA wants you to STOP FORCING Parasite Hilton down our throats. We are so sick of this chick! PLEASE PLEASE..stop the madness...she is nothing but a spoiled rich kid. I doubt very much that she would have done anything without her daddys cash!!! Pathetic!

50. NBC protests too much.
ABC was going to pay. Mr Hilton announced he would go to the highest bidder. NBC has been loosing viewershipp for awhile and is desperate. SO, it is hard not believe they would not do what so many other media outlets would do if they had been approached.
Barbara and Meridith are equally unattractive in this saga.
I am not saying NBC is any worse, they just got caught. I doubt other news outlets are any better. I do not think other outlets would of resisted similar temptations. It is a Paris feeding/ratings frenzy.

51. Those TMZ guys are some sneaky bastards...so I'm siding with TMZ, which seems to have reliable sources everywhere. And it's good to finally get celeb news with it being glossed with an angelic sheen by the celebs' and studios' Hollywod publicists. BUt I still don't think TMZ should have leaked that stupid O.J. book!

54. Amazing the way TMZ spins non stories. There was NO actual interview signed sealed and delivered. But somehow you will post 'exclusive' and still developing 'notes' all over rumors and then ignore it tomorrow. I used to think you broke stories but ever since the Paris stuff I see how you 'report' and 80% of the time you are wrong or they are really 'non-stories'. You print somebody said to somebody who said to somebody...blah blah. Then when it turns out not to be true you spin how it was 'cancelled' after you leaked it or whatever. It is getting boring and tiresome and you are losing so so so much credability. Now you're just another rumor driven gossip site.

58. I love Merideth and had hoped she would get the interview. Only to pay one million dollars is ridiculus. Paris really needs the money--who is she anyway? My gosh it's like she is some big celebrity and she is just a rich, spoiled, felon, Heiress.
