Christina Aguilera is reading movie scripts in hopes of launching her acting career, as reported by the Associated Press. 
Someone, please stop her.

Even though I don't care for singers acting, or actors doing voice overs -- as I think that takes away opportunities from others whose goals are just to either act or do voice work -- it wouldn't bother me if she did it.

19. Who's bright ass idea was the whole "xtina" thing? Did she do that, or did paps start it??
It makes me NUTS! the 'x' replaces 'christ' not 'chris'. She would then be xina.....that is, if anyone were literate.
How dumb. Her music career is pretty over, slipping further and further into the past, so now she wants to act....uh...sure!

21. Ok, why is Christina being compared to two different females? Christina can act her ass off, she has talent. She did a spectacular job on SNL, anything she does, she does it with a passion, let alone she does it GREAT! She stays true to what her interests are, nonetheless, don't compare her to Britney and Mariah, or anyone else for that matter. She is her own person, and that person she is, is why she is so successful today, with those vocals she can blow anyone out the wind. God bless her and the future she has in this industry. She has a Oscar waiting for with her name on it. LEGEND!

22. here's the what I think about all these song birds acting. For starters, I can agree with the bulk of everyone here that Beyonce isn't a very good actor. I think the problem with these movies is that they make these women the stars of their own movies. Usually, they're great at their "Day Job", but when it comes to acting, they tend to be amateurish at best.
Personally, I think use to have a really warped opinion on Christina, but in the last couple of years, I can see how she seems to have some substance to her, thus, I think she could actually be a in a movie and be do really well in it. However, in saying so, I think that if she is reading scripts, that she should start off small, do a couple of supporting roles, you know, get your toes wet a little before jumping into the deep end of th pool. That is after all, how pretty much all of Hollywood's big timers have done it. If she wants to prevail in acting, and I think she will, I'd say start from the bottom and work your way up.

25. Come on people. Whitney did it and those movies ruled the and Soundtracks ruled. Soundtracks longer than the movies but they still worked. Give the girl a chance. If it fails, then she should not try it again but you should try almost anything, once.
