It's Not Easy Being (Tom) Green

Tom GreenIf you were out at Hollywood hotspot Republic over the weekend, you might have seen Tom Green getting dissed at the front door -- at least one of our staffers did.

Green's agent called TMZ and told us what we didn't see -- Tom partying it up inside Republic with his agent for an hour and a half before walking outside. As Tom left, he saw some friends in the front of the line who were getting rejected. The agent says Tom went to the front and tried unsuccessfully to get them in, and then he left.

By the way, the agent added Greene has two TV offers.

Tom Green has one THE most popular video-cast talk shows on the web called, "The Channel," at TomGreen.com. He was also recently a contestant on the new show, "Thank God You're Here," and he had the improv actors on the show completely stumped. He would've won too if Shannon Elizabeth wasn't so slutty.

39. Tom Green live is one of the best shows around these days. It's live every night and its totally free. Just a connection to the internet which obviously everyone here has access to. No other show is doing that. Why dis the guy changing the way television will be broadcast in the future?

42. that is ludicrous! i've seen tom green in the VIP room at Republic tons of times and he's usually the one with all the girlies at his table. in fact, i can recall one time not long ago that he bought crystal for the house---hell, diddy won't even do that. Tom green is a player if there ever was one.

44. Wow. That this is a story is one thing, ok. I have come to expect nothing less from a fine "media outlet" such as this. I mean, where else can single digit IQ star watchers get their dirt? I always forget about everywhere else, you know.

However, the fact that most of the invalids that posted before me are piling on this "Tom Green never was a star" or "Tom Green never was really that funny" crap that's entirely wrong. Green's show was a very outside of the box idea before every other hip network type decided it was in to give the reigns of a talk show to someone they deemed more 'creative' than 'journalistic' and 'conventional'.

TMZ ought to be proud of this story and its readers. Must've been a slow day for Paris or Britney's right tit.
