Benoit Murder Details Revealed

TMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing.

Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.

One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.

According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.

A police investigation is ongoing.

48. I can only hope that the son was unaware of what had happened to his mother. While there is no excuse for what Benoit did, if this poor child knew of his mother's death and how she died, that makes it even worse.

And while I'm fully aware that wrestling is a staged or pre-determined form of entertainment, Chris Benoit was always known as someone who gave fans "their money's worth" when he performed. Plus, Benoit was well respected by his peers, from all accounts he led a "normal" life outside the wrestling ring, and was said to love his family and his time with them. That's what makes this sad situation all the more confusing . . . . .

51. Unfortunately these reports are not OFFICIAL reports. Are they true? Possibly. We in a whole do not know this guy, all we know of him is a character on TV. We were not in his head, we do not know what he was thinking and we sure as hell don't know what he was on to make him do this. Did he abuse his wife, his kids, his dogs? Unfortunately we do not know this guy from Joe. There had to be something leading up to it. Something went wrong! Very wrong

We have to look at this from every angle possible. Coulda/Shoulda/ Woulda?!

Let the police do their jobs and pray that this family could be at peace.

54. I'm sorry this happened but everyone keeps asking, how could he do this to his child? Hello, women kill their children all the time. It's called abortion! In this country, it's ok to kill a child you haven't seen yet, but not ok if you kill them later. Murder is murder and it's wrong. No ifs ands or buts about it. Women who have abortions are sick individuals who deserve hell. You can't cure Herpes by killing a baby.

56. WWE should wipe their hands clean of this monster.....they have already pulled any merchadise of Benoit's and have deleted his name on DVD's that have him performing on it. Last night, before they knew he was a child killer, they had a Tribute show on his life and career. They should now do a show saying exactly what he is..a coward, a heartless monster, a double murderer, a child killer, a SICKO who one night kills his wife, the next night sits with his 7 year old watching wrestling knowing he's going to kill him after the show....it makes me sick!

57. Benoit has two other children from a previous relationship. His son that he murdered was seven years old. Go to www.wsbtv.com for local news on the this tragic story. I cant imagine the terror his family felt no chance to get away from a pro. And for the person that asked he killed his wife first then later killed his son so they watched tv together on Sunday then he killed his son after the show.
