301. In response to pj, I wholeheartedly agree that women need to get out of abusive relationships. BUT, don't blame her for her own murder. Chris and Chris alone is responsible for his actions.

Statisticly, women are in the most danger immediately AFTER trying to escape an abusive relationship. Most likely, he threatened to kill her and her son after she filed for the divorce, so she may have decided that it was safer to drop the charges. On average, women try to leave an abusive relationship seven times before they are actually successful.

Rather than blaming the victim, we as a society (both men and women) need to do a lot better job of recognizing the warning signs to stop these abusive men.

302. He is the captain of his own ship. He wanted and took the steroids, and I am sure he knew of the hazzards. Unless he lived in a bubble.
What a horrible horrible person to do that to his wife and son.

303. # 21 VKM -- I certainly hope and pray that any woman who gets within 20 miles of you figures you out fast. There is NO way a woman can "push a man to the brink" enough to kill her. You walk away, you pack up and leave, in my own husband's case when he's stressed, he relaxes in a hot bath, everyone has a way to "chill out" and VERY few men are stupid enough to take out their anger by as much as even shoving a woman. I've been in an abusive marriage and all it is is some ego "big man" trip for man, no more than that. My current husband TAUGHT ME what an "equalizer" is in case any man in any form ever hurt me so when my ex came around I knew he'd wear a lamp along side the head as soon as he raised a hand to me and he did - and lost visitation with the kids. Gee, whose fault was that? You sit there and CONDONE abuse! "Sane" men, teach your wives/girlfriends and as well, gay couples teach your partners what an equalizer is in case someday your relationship doesn't work out, your spouse/partner is still protected. Relationships end, but friendship remains in the best of cases. Women, if a man as much as raises his hand to you ONCE - LEAVE! There's always a way even if it's a call to a battered women's shelter. Sadly for Ms. Benoit, she "forgave" one time too many. You cannot "forgive" abuse, it WILL happen again and only gets worse. It feeds some men's egos to prove he can be a big man and strike a woman, yet when my ex was confronted by my now husband he cowered like baby. They can't deal with the men. Yes, perhaps the steroids had something to do with Beniot's actions but there's NO excuse. He could have walked away, walked out the door even for days to cool out. I don't buy it entirely being the steroids. It makes for a good excuse I guess. Only men who are COWARDS will ever raise a hand to a woman. BTW _ I have no use for wrestling anyway, but I will say that I grew up in West Newbury, Mass with John Cena. He's always been a great guy and if any fans feel that they need to "look up" to any of them, John is certainly worthy and is a stable role model. Visits home, he is the same John he always was - no swelled head and IMO doesn't look like he's used steroids, he looks "like myself". Anyway VKM, I suggest that you change your attitude as now you appear to be a guy "most likely to succeed in hurting any woman you choose to" when you don't get your way. We don't need to see your name in print as an abuser next. Should you keep the attutide, it wouldn't surprise me one bit as again, NO woman can drive a man to murder his wife and child in cold blood. NOTHING!!

309. No mention of this fact on Larry King Live last night. All the " boys club" were on claiming he was a great husband and father and I thought " how do you know"/

Something struck me as odd when they were talking about Chris being the strong silent type - which was his eyes looked empty in every picture that Larry King showed of him.

310. So many young men are dying in the entertainment business called Wrestling. Most are under 45, what does that tell you? Steriods play a huge role in their body building and they have to maintain that level of ingestion of the drug in order to keep the physique. Their's a price to pay for every choice you make....unfortunately in this case, it claimed the lives to two innocent people. I keep wondering who will be the next one to do the same or something similar. Trust me its going to happen...always does...RIP.

Maggie : you siad "THEY" found a suicide note and he killed his son with a plastic bag???? where do you read any of this on the news there was no note according to police hence the toxicology reports leading to the possibility of a motive. the only thing found next to any of the bodies were copies of the "HOLY BIBLE" and thats the furthest thing possible from a suicide note. and as for the plastic bag it is reported that he used a wrestiling choke hold not a paper bag. try to get your facts straight. or at least research you information.

312. WHEN SEEING THE SHOW IN OKC,, I & MY LITTLE 3 YR OLD LITTLE BOY WERE OUTSIDE WAITING FOR MY HUSBAND TO FINISH HIS JOB. WHEN ALL THE WRESTLERS WERE COMING OUT AND GOING TO THEIR PERSPECTIVE LIMOS ,, CHRIS WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAME UP TO US AND BEGAN A CONVERSATION. HE WAS CHARMING, POLITE,,,, JUST A SUPER NICE GUY! THE OTHER WRESTLERS ( BOOKER T & ORTON ESPECIALLY,) WERE KINDA TICKED OFF THAT WE WERE THERE. THEY DIDNT WANT TO BE "BOTHERED" BY THE PEOPLE WHO PAY TONS OF $ TO SEE THEIR SHOWS! SUCH STUCK UP BUTTHOLES! BUT NOT CHRIS! HE WAS VERY NICE. HE EVEN POSED FOR A PIC WITH MY LITTLE BOY! I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY HE DID WHAT HE DID, BUT I GUESS THATS WHY THEY CALL IT "DOPE"!!! SOME PEOPLE HAVE A " BREAKING POINT",,, SHOULDNT NANCY HAVE SEEN IT COMING? SHE WAS , AFTER ALL , HIS WIFE, AND CLOSEST TO HIM. RIGHT? JUST SOOOOO SAD! 313. HEY " GET REAL ,, VKM,," JOHN CENA IS AN ATHIEST!! AND I MET CHRIS BENOIT AFTER A SHOW IN OKC. HE WAS THE ONLY WRESTLER WHO CAME UP TO ME AND MY LITTLE BOY (3 YRS OLD ) AND BEGAN A CONVERSATION. WAS A SUPER NICE GUY. FRIENDLY, POLITE, PLEASANT AND JUST REALLY FREINDLY. HE EVEN POSED FOR A PIC WITH MY LITTLE BOY. WHEN ALL THE OTHER WRESTLERS ( BOOKER T AND ORTON ESPECIALLY ) SEEM TICKED THAT WE WERE THERE AFTER SPENDING MUCHO $$$ FOR THEIR SHOW. SUCH BUTTHOLES! BUT NOT CHRIS. HE TOOK THE TIME TO SAY "HEY" TO HIS FANS. WHICH IS FAR BETTER THAN ANY OF THE OTHER STUCK UP BUTTHOLES WHO WERE SCRAMBLING TO THEIR PERSPECTIVE LIMOS. AND BY THE WAY,, WHO REGULATES THIS "SPORT" ANYWAY????? AND VINCE IS THE BIGGEST ONE ( BUTTHOLE ) OF ALL. THERE IS NO WAY THAT HE DOESNT KNOW THAT HIS "EMPLOYEES" ARE NOT ON STEROIDS. NO WAY! HE PROBABLY EVEN SUPPORTS IT. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT A NORMAL HUMAN BEING LOOKS LIKE THAT, EVEN IF THEY ARE HEALTH CONCIOUS AND WORK OUT EVERY SINGLE DAY! JUST NO WAY. 314. This is such a tragedy, to say the least, for all concerned! It's tragic that the man thought he needed to take drugs that can alter his normal behavior. It's tragic that the wife didn't get herself and her son out, and far away, at the first sign of physical abuse. People should never hang around thinking things are going to get better. Risking one's own life by staying with an abusive spouse is bad enough, but risking one's child's life by staying
and putting the child in harms' way makes her partly responsible for the childs death. I'm sure that wasn't what the mother intended, but it's as if she threw him in the front of an out of control freight train. The number one responsibility of a parent is to protect his/her child. Both failed their son miserably.
