As I read it, she had decided that she would not marry or have children, but then things changed and she is married and pregnant. No place does it state that she did not want to marry or have children, she had accepted it was not to be.

99. #21, she was engaged to be married many years ago, but her fiance was murdered. I believe this is what she was referring to. I believe his murder was the catalyst in her going to law school and being a prosecutor.
