Celebrity Justice
WWE -- No Killer Zone

After authorities revealed the grisly details of Chris Benoit's final days, the WWE is changing their tune. In a televised statement, aired just moments ago on Sci Fi Channel's ECW, Vince McMahon made it clear -- they will no longer honor the memory of the murdering wrestler:

"Last night on 'Monday Night Raw,' the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world -- entertain you."

20. Pure damage control on Vince's part and I don't believe a word of it.

Actions speak louder than words. Take action Vince to stop steroid abuse and then maybe someone will take you seriously.

22. Go Vince! Thank you for not apologising and just moving forward. While it is true Benoit's wrestling career can never be erased this one act will be the only thing he is remembered for. He will not have the dash because of this terrible ordeal. I hope the wrestlers and fans can move on and get over the betrayal of benoits actions. I was completely dumb struck at all that had happened and if I had been asked for a wrestler who would explode Benoit would have been no where on my list. There is no proof yet that he was taking roids but there is alot of evidence that they were shooting Daniel up because he was being to small.
Prayers to the WWE wrestlers and to the survivng Benoit family, mostly is two surviving chidren, David and Megan..........

24. Why do people keep saying "he was so talented in the ring!"? Isn't WWE wrestling nothing more than fake, choreographed b.s.? C.B. was a wife beating AND wife and child murdering s.o.b. and he's BURNING for what he's done. He IS NOT resting in peace because he doesn't deserve to.

25. *JOHN, GUESS IM A DOUCH, BUT I FEEL BAD 4 YOU

Posted at 11:11PM on Jun 26th 2007 by spoon smith

26. Umm...John, you sound pretty moronic--You know what happened in that house because you were there???? Didn't think so. You can kiss your own azz...( great speller as well). WWE is being totally hypocritical about this--Steroids may have been a contributing factor but we don't know that yet--Chris tested clean as recently as April. They are only worried about their reputation. He had a volatile marriage obviously but none of us is qualified to judge what happened. If you notice the information tmz posted earlier you will see even when his wife originally filed for divorce she did not say he physically abused her, she said he threw furniture around and threatened her. If you listen to the testimonials of his friends, they all say this is not in his character..He was obviously sick in some way and needed help. WWE's ridiculous touring schedule would put anyone under pressure and he must have just snapped. Whatever he did, I am sure he paid for it by being in that house with the bodies of his family for some period of time before he killed himself. WWE should have aired the tribute because it was a tribute to his career which is stellar despite his terrible end. I think all the bashers here should remember that Mr. Benoit has surviving kids and family and think how they would feel if one of their family members was in this position. This is an awful tragedy made worse by obnoxious and sensational reporting and internet trash talk.

27. It's so very sad. But agree agree! Do not honor a murderer. But you have to have some sympathy if drugs made him crazy.

28. I think the apology for the tribute was a waste. Honestly yes he committed a horrendous crime but the tribute was to celebrate the entertainer IN THE RING. not his personal life. but what;s done is done.

29. To #13-Sabrina.
Go ahead Sabrina, go and celebrate his life...Hope in the middle of your celebration, the host of his child will hount you. Hope in the middle of the celebration you will remember the wife of this coward and her last horrible moments.

Christ Benoit was an "outstanding wrestler" now he is a coward and a murderer. You celebrate his life....Shame on you!

30. The WWE website says they knew it was a crime scene before deciding to do that ridiculous tribute. Vince is just trying to do damage control. What a bunch of incompetent idiots.

He took steroids. He lost his mind. He killed his family. He would be in the gas chamber if he hadn't killed himself. He was a wife beater, and now he's a murderer. A child murderer, no less.
