I can't explain the envy that I feel when I see a father and daughter together. My dad died when I was eleven....so everyone who has a dad still living and he isn't a total ass; pick up the phone and tell him you love him or better give him a big hug if you can.

I'm with you, Debra. My dad died just a month shy of my 16th birthday (and his 46th) and I can't bear to watch my friends dance with their fathers at their weddings. That's one of the many things my dad and I always talked about doing that we never got to do (along with teaching me to drive, grilling my first date, etc) . There's nothing like the bond between a good father and his daughter.
