I am also a mom of 2 children with Fragile X Syndrome. Also my older brother has it. It is genetic,carried on the X chromosome. A boy inherits an X from his mom and a Y from dad, so he can only inherit FX from his mom, and it has nothing to do with whether or not dad was on steroids.

Um, yeah tell that to my 6 foot 200 lb brother with FX, or to my 4 year old who has been in the 95th percentile all his life. Not sure where that info came from, but I've read it a few times this last day or two, but also not true.
I can't speak to what happened in that horrific tragedy or why, but I do know that having a child with special needs is stressful, and these parents need support, someone to talk to, and someone to help out.

i know it's difficult but try to have some compassion. none of us know what happened but if he did do it (which hasn't been confirmed yet) he probably was fighting with his wife on friday & in a fit of rage..whatever kind...he probably accidentally killed her..meaning he probably didn't plan it. & then he was probably left in shock & horror over what he did & thought about what would be next. he probably thought that it was best to kill his son (i know that sounds & IS horrible-but hear me out). the kid was found in bed so he likely was killed in his sleep. chris probably felt horrible about what he did..as he should & wanted to spare his son from the loss of his mother by his father's hand on top of all that he was already dealing with being developmentally challenged. i want to think of it as a mercy killing..even though that doesn't excuse it. i want to believe that no father would want his child to die unless it would spare them pain. i think after all of that happened, he felt he could only do what seemed to be the answer & kill himself as well.
whatever happened, the entire thing is a tragedy.
instead of judging, try having some compassion. if not for chris benoit, at least for the families that are suffering from this loss.

WOW - I see TMZ had to take down the doctor's laundry list of drugs they just posted around 4:30 est.

No sooner did I post a comment on it - I went to view it and the whole story was taken down. TMZ needs to understand there is an investigation going on and what they do sometimes is just STUPID!

WHY WOULD HE KILL HIS POOR INNOCENT WIFE AND SON, HE SHOULD OF JUST KILLED HIMSELF. THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE FOR THIS FAMILY AND ALL OF US.
THAT POOR INNOCENT CHILD, BOY DO I FEEL FOR HIM. I HOPE THAT CHRIS ROTTES. :)

Here's my thoughts on what happened.

For whatever reason, he went nuts and killed his wife.
Then after much thought, realized he would go to prison for it and that would leave his son to be raised by someone else and his son would have to live with the knowledge his dad killed his mom...
or after killing his wife, he wanted to kill himself, but couldn't bear the thought of leaving his son parentless or leaving him alone with their dead bodies...
so he killed his son before killing himself... and also before the son even knew his mom was dead.
I think in a sick way, Chris was trying to spare his son from finding out what happened and spare him from being left alone in the world.

I have always enjoyed wrestling and what happened with Benoit and his
family is AWFUL. But what the media is doing is Wrong. chris Benoit
is A man before he was a wrestler. This man killed his wife and his
son. Whether he was a wrestler shouldn't matter. He was a man with obvious
problems. God bless his wife and son. He will never see them again.

Thanks TMZ staff for posting the photo. Some things on the net I had read made it sound like the child was some kind of freak. Your picture was the only one of the child that I could find. He is a very cute and normal looking boy. I can't believe his life was taken from him by his own father. What a sick monster! If he wanted to die, he should have killed himself. He had no right to take the life of his wife or child. One article posted on the net said "Benoit made a mistake and we should remember him for who he was and not what he did wrong". That was a joke concidering it was no accident and he went about it in the course of a few days. I think he only killed himself to escape justice for killing his family. He took the cowardly way out..

How incredibly sad that he took that little boys life. I just get so upset whenever I see or hear that a child has been abused or much worse killed. It's just not fair.

He was so adorable....I'm so sad for him. This breaks my heart so much and I am in tears.
