Britney to Mom -- Take a Letter From My Lawyer

TMZ has learned Britney Spears gave her mom a present today -- a lawyer's letter -- and mom was none too pleased.

The video was shot in Valencia, Calif., this afternoon on a film set where Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn is working. There are reports circulating that the papers are a restraining order, but TMZ has confirmed that is NOT the case. It is a letter from an out-of-state lawyer. By the way, Britney could not legally serve her mom with a restraining order if she was the one seeking it.

Sources say Britney feels that her mom turned on her in the days before she entered Promises rehab. She also feels Lynne Spears is not stable enough to be around Brit's kids because she may have her own "issues." We're told the letter bluntly asks Lynne to stay away from the children if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them.

We're also told Spears has become super-protective of her kids and is taking back a lot of the control that others were exercising over her life.

Britney is 25 years old and can do as she pleases as long as she keeps her kids safe.It is funny to me in this country we need a license to drive and alicense to even catch a fish but any butthead that hasn't the sense to use birth control can have a baby..and on top of it all..it seems that the ones that have the most children are those that are least qualified. babies having babies is always a bad situation. call me what you will britney is a spoiled, insecure, no talent mother of kids that she needs to focus on .Instead she does what most kids do and worries what she will look like to other people. Thats the last thing on my mind.what others think of me fuel my resolve so Phhhhhhttttt Britney shame on you !

52. I guess the whole family is disfunctional! Who is going to take care of the kids? You never see pictures of Britney with them anymore? Britney is too busy trying to make a comeback and K-fed is too busy partying and using the kids as pawns to get more money from Britney because he is too sorry to work. 58. As my Grandma always said You only have one Mother and one Father.
My Mom died when I was 3 years old,what I would give to talk to her or my Dad who died 4 years ago.. I think Britney is messing up big time ( such a shock) by not letting her Mom see her kids,, As a grandmother myself I cannot imagine not seeing my granddaughter..
She needs to realize that long after her fame & fortune are gone her parents and family will be there whenever all of her buddies haul ass..
I think she is still pissed about the whole rehab thing, when she should be grateful someone tried to help her..
I don't think she is trash as much as she is ignorant, one look at her and you can tell she is not wrapped to tight..
The only ones hurting here are her kids and family..
It is pretty bad when K-fed looks like the better parent, not the best but better than Britney..

60. She is such a skanky whore!!! Please someone call DCFS again and take those two children away from her. She is clearly not stable. Does DCFS just turn their heads because she is Britney Spears? Big dam deal - she's a washed up teen lip syncer. Place those two boys somewhere safe!! Make her have supervised visits until she has 2 years of intensive therapy.
