Britney to Mom -- Take a Letter From My Lawyer

TMZ has learned Britney Spears gave her mom a present today -- a lawyer's letter -- and mom was none too pleased.

The video was shot in Valencia, Calif., this afternoon on a film set where Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn is working. There are reports circulating that the papers are a restraining order, but TMZ has confirmed that is NOT the case. It is a letter from an out-of-state lawyer. By the way, Britney could not legally serve her mom with a restraining order if she was the one seeking it.

Sources say Britney feels that her mom turned on her in the days before she entered Promises rehab. She also feels Lynne Spears is not stable enough to be around Brit's kids because she may have her own "issues." We're told the letter bluntly asks Lynne to stay away from the children if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them.

We're also told Spears has become super-protective of her kids and is taking back a lot of the control that others were exercising over her life.

63. ummm...ok. Britney in 2 years got married, got 2 kids, divorced, went on a party spree & entered rehab THREE times, only successful on the last attempt with intervention & she tells her mom SHE has issues?

Britney, you are certified NUTS!! And ungrateful. Shoot, your mom could have gone Hollywood & wrote a book & exploited you & you thank her with this?! I'd disown you. You'll regret doing this...

67. My hunch is that Lynn Spears is a seasoned agent who used to guide Britney's career. That's when Britney was successful. Lynn pulled away after Britney married K-Fed. Britney had 2 kids, got a divorce and sabotaged her own career. Britney isn't working.

Meantime, so far Jaime is getting along with their Mother; Lynn is now guiding Jaime's career and Jaime is working.

Britney is jealous. Britney is a cracked, spiteful green-eyed monster.

69. who knows why Britney was there and what she was giving to her mother? All I can say is that i believe Britney is a good mother and i can tell she loves her boys very much. People shouldnt judge her you dont know her or whats going on in her life! I feel so sorry for her!
