Except felony hit and run, felony poss. of cocaine, felony DUI under both cocaine and alcohol should warrant a "prison" sentence under normal circumstances. Just ask your average poor, minority prison inmate serving 2-5 for the same offense. But in LaLa land the rules dont apply to the "ruling" class - anyone with money and/or fame.

People need to demand equal justice and equal treatment from the elected law enforcement persons, like Steve Cooley. Watch, Lohan won't do day one in a jail or prison cell. She will get some credit for drug treatment, which in her case is a joke, and a fine and a probation period. At some point people are going to get really pissed off at this special treatment.

123. Everyone who thinks the parents are to blame, needs to shutup! As a parent who Yes, has abused drugs -speed balls- & booze & now I'm CLEAN & have been for 11 years!!! Calif Prison HELPED me change!! But let me tell you...my 5 children are now all grown & all leading productive lives working hard & raising my grandkids. Let me also mention that 3 of them have made a career in the US Navy- 1 has 11 years, 1 has 9 years & the last one 1 year!
The point is KIDS MAKE THEIR OWN CHOICES!!!! But, I have also ALWAY told my kids "DON'T HAVE A LIFE LIKE MINE"!!!!!!!

125. If a non-celebrity would do time ......... she should do time. She is so lucky that she didn't kill someone.

This "play" rehab (more of a Country Club with some rules) just isn't working for most celebs ......... why would I think a kid her age would "GET IT".

She needs help and I pray that she gets it.

Her parents need to be firm with her and stop coddling her for the fame and money. Her mother appears to want fame more than her daughter. Her parents are fighting over custody of the younger children and trying to get them rich and famous. Why not PARENT their oldest child that is spiraling out of control????

You are incorrect. The legal alcohol limit for someone under the age of 21 is .01 in the state of California. That means that Lohan was 16X HER LIMIT!!!!!!!!

129. She went to the hospital after the crash to avoid going to jail that night. She knew what she was doing. If a cop had come out to the crash site when she was there, they would have bypassed the hospital.

She knew she shouldn't have been drinking, being under age. I wonder if her mom will say she is just being young and having fun.

You must be very young in mind. Lindsay chooses to be in the public eye and more so then many other celebrities if you notice. Using her parents or lack of as an excuse to party and put others at risk of dying is ludicrous and a cop out. Lindsay is not 15, She is an adult addict now. There are many addicts with normal hard working parents who have never used drugs. At some point one must take responsibiliy for their own issues. Better Lohan does this now rather then after someone dies.

BUT...

If those kids are caught doing it, they get punished. Accepting punishment when you break the rules is also part of growing up. Everyone is allowed to make mistakes but they also have to accept the consequences.

Your argument is not valid. Weather we partied as Lohan does or not is not the issue. If any one of us at that age were caught driving intoxicated or on drugs, Do you think we would be free to jump into rehab? You think it would be months before a charge came forward? That is the point.
She got caught and must pay, just as we would have. I can honesty say I never got behind a wheel drunk or on drugs. Most living in Los Angles realize they are not celebrity's and will go directly to jail.
