Princes Plan Special Concert for Mom

Princes William and Harry are gearing up this evening for an all-star concert in memory of their mother, Princess Diana. The concert, held at Wembley Stadium, will feature Rod Stewart, Elton John, and troubled pop princess Lily Allen.

The concert is being held on what would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday. Elton John has agreed to perform his Diana-specific version of "Candle in the Wind" at the request of the princes.

46. TMZ said that Elton was going to perform the diana-specific version of candle in the wind but he didnt - did they get their facts wrong or did he just change his mind?

47. People worship Madonna and any fart from royal family are sheep. Royal family members are biggest bums in the world. No one deserves your worshipping. They are only human not God.

48. William and Harry where raised well, by Diana and Charles. A concert with as many prominant stars as this one is quite rare, I don't know if something as big as this has ever happened in England other than African aid concert.

51. Over the top concert!! Prince William & Prince Harry I felt your mum's presence during the entire concert and tears came to my eyes several times. She is so proud of the both of you. I also disappointed Elton John didnt conclude with Candles in the Wind, but as he said after Diana's funeral he would never do it again. Great show, beyond words your tribute, and please know your Mum so very very proud of the both of U!! As the world is too.

52. Elton said that he would NEVER perform that song again after Diana's funeral. I was hoping that he would but I can understand why he didn't. I'm NOT a fan of Diddy but the song was appropriate and wonderful.

Rest In Paradise Diana!!!

54. As a fellow brunette, I'm rooting for Kate! I think they're just playing with everyone, staying apart at the concert.

55. I thought I read that the princes asked Elton John NOT to sing the English Rose version of Candle in the Wind because the concert was to celebrate her life, not mourn her death.

56. It was nice of Will and Harry to honor their mother.

Truth be told, she'd be alive today if she hadn't been sleeping around. She should have been home with her sons in August of 1997, not sleeping with Fayed and whoever else she was messing around with. That is not the best example a mom sets for her sons.

It's a tragic shame. Those boys needed her while they were younger, and they need her now. Guess her need to be "needed" was more important that her sons. That is selfish and it caused her premature death. It's a shame and a waste.

None of the senior royals were allowed to attend. Princes William & Harry wanted it that way. It's like their introduction to the world by holding an event. The two daughters of Prince Andrew are there together with various cousins.

I know NBC will be showing it later but have no idea how much of it as it was 6 hours on TV. They always want to do these things in "prime time" and therefore you never see the whole thing. It's the same with the olympics. They show maybe 4 hours at night. I live in Canada and when the olympics are on, our station plays them for the whole day, depending on the location. We watch them live so you get to see just about all the sports.

59. Made me happy and sad! Miss her and cannot believe it has been almost 10 years.
Her sons grew into fine young men and I am sure somewhere she is proud and smiling!
