Paris Hilton and Scooter Libby have one (and probably only one) thing in common -- "excessive" sentencing -- but it's Paris, not Scooter, who actually did the time. Nice to have some friendly Bush on your side!

President Bush commuted the 2-1/2 year sentence of longtime White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby yesterday, calling Libby's punishment "excessive" -- just as Paris said of her own summertime slammer-time. Libby was busted for leaking a CIA agent's identity, putting her life in jeopardy. Aside from more than a few fashion disasters, Hilton was convicted of what some considered a glorified traffic violation. And who gets the free pass?

Most Americans aren't sympathetic to Paris and Scooter. When TMZ asked whether Paris got what she deserved, an overwhelming 93 percent of the more than 121,000 people who answered the poll responded that yes, Ms. Hilton deserved to do time for the crime. Similarly, most Americans think Libby should've done his too: A SurveyUSA poll revealed that 60 percent of Americans believe that Scooter Libby's 2-1/2 year sentence should stick. It didn't.

92. I was on some of the message boards about the Libby thing. And when the post got really heated about the Libby thing. Someone would say.

Where is Paris!!! As if grasping for Paris. For security. LOL :-) :-)

Paris does seem freakishly strong sometimes. Especially after what we saw her go through. Then shortly after that. To do a beautiful hour long interview with Larry King.

He was tough. And she was good. Paris is a little spookily strong sometimes. When you think about it. :-)

97. Like father, like son. Bush Sr. pardoned all the Iran/Contra criminals on Christmas Eve, to try to sweep the entire mess under the rug when the country was getting ready for Christmas. Now his corrupt son does this on the eve of celebrating our independance from British tyranny, to once again do it when people are preoccupied by a Holiday, spitting in the face of a jury verdict, a Judge's sentence and appeals ruling.

It is outrageous that Paris Hilton did more time than lawyer Scooter Libby for perjury and obstruction of Justice. The Republicans and Bush are the WWE of politics, totally corrupt, and this particular "fight" was fixed from the first second.

99. Larry King has now gone on tv, after the infamous Paris interview, saying she was lying.

How is that a glorious hour interview?

I wish King had the guts to confront his guests while they are on air, call them on their lies, rather than do it afterwards with other people.

101. Bush, Cheney, Rove were all freaking that Joe Wilson exposed the whole weapons of mass destruction FRAUD, and punished him by outing his covert CIA operative wife. THAT is why lawyer Libby, who knows better, was punished so severely for his corrupt acts.

105. It is utterly amazing that people know so little about the Libby case but have such strong opinions. Libby did not leak ANYTHING to ANYONE, Plame was NOT covert and was not at any risk of "getting killed." The whole thing was a farce - yet this myth (along with so many others) is perpetuated in Hollywood over and over and over. Who writes this stuff?
