TMZ has independently confirmed that Nicole Richie is pregnant.
The starlet has been dating Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden for over six months. Rumors have been swirling for months that Richie and Madden were expecting, but TMZ has confirmed through several sources that she is, in fact, with child. In Touch magazine is also reporting that the couple will wed this summer. Richie is currently facing DUI charges stemming from her arrest last December, when she was found driving the wrong way on a California highway.
Richie's trial is set for July 11. If convicted, she faces a minimum of five days in jail.
Richie's rep did not return repeated calls for comment.

I just cannot see Nicole Richie as a Mother! I hope that I am wrong but I think that the only reason that she is keeping the baby is because she thinks that being pregnant will bring her sympathy in court and maybe even keep her out of jail! I would not be the least surprised if the rumors are true that she got pregnant on purpose because she thinks that the pregnancy would keep her out of jail. Boy won't she be surprised if she finds herself in jail in spite of being pregnant! I heard that the Judge assigned to her case has a reputation of being tough!

My thoughts and Prayers are with Nicole Richie's unborn baby. I don't know much about the father of the baby, but I do hope and pray that he will be able to teach his son or daughter morals, and HOW TO EAT. omg....the poor baby, I think it's seriously dumb if ppl think that the judge will go easy on her because she is knocked up. yeah right, she has been addictied to herion and in rehab and has previously had numerous legal problems included drugs, the judge won't care that she is pregnant, he will look at her friends, and previous records, past lifes, and throw her butt in jail.

I just really hope the best for Nicole and the baby. She just appears so very unhealthy. Hopefully, this will change her for the better. With her history of drugs and alcohol, and it would be horrible if she was doing these while pregnant, I pray that the baby comes out ok...Maybe Nicole will choose some new friends and make life a little more fulfilling than being a walking time bomb ready to explode, i.e. heart attack, stroke, diabetes, drug rehab, sclerosis of the liver etc...

I was convicted of the same charges, went to jail for 5 days...there were two or three pregnant girls in there at the same time I was. You're goin to jail Nicole!

YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GET A LIFE!!!! Irregardless of what Nicole did or didn't do, she is still a human being. And the news of her being pregnant does not invoke "what a loser!" ideals in me, but rather of the health of her and her child. I am one of those unfortunante women who cannot get pregnant (I had a hysterectomy at 28, preceeded by several years of medical issues), yet I see that if she and the child healthfully survive this pregnancy the child will be WELL cared for, so leave her alone. My prayers are with Nicole and her unborn child!
