Al Gore's Son Busted!

Al Gore IIIAl Gore III, the 24-year-old son of Al Gore was arrested on suspicion of drug possession today. The former second-in-command's son was pulled over after allegedly driving his Prius 100 miles an hour down an Orange County freeway. (At least he was driving a Prius!) When deputies searched the car they found pot, along with Valium, Xanax, Vicodin and Adderall. He is currently being held at the Santa Ana Inmate Reception Center on $20,000 bail.

This isn't Gore III's first arrest. He was charged with marijuana possession in 2003 and was ticketed for reckless driving in 2000 and 2002.

362. Well; the drunk twins of the Bushes, was handled as a family matter, so O'Reilly lovers give the Gores a break. Remember, O'Reilly never registered as a sex offender and drugs only increased the popularity of old Rush Limbaugh...uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh; ahha!

364. Unless you are living with an addiction, and that includes the family members of the addicted person, you will have no idea the years that go by until they begin to self-destruct and show damage. Most of these people are so bright that they have managed to hide their problems for years. So it really doesn't matter that Al Gore III is 24...what matters is that he didn't kill or hurt anyone and he is alive. I believe that he needs to go to a really intensive rehab where he will get tools to identify and deal with his triggers. Unfortunately, I don't think he has hit bottom. I hope he and his family get the help they desparately need and the people/doctors who gave the drugs get caught. There are too many people with medical licenses and perscription pads. It is so easy to get these meds.

366. Global warming made him do it! No, just kidding, but one inconvenient truth, Al, is that your son's a pot head. First, it's the house that uses more energy than half the state of Tennessee, and then his son is busted with pot driving a normal car (that's worse!).

367. Not for nothing, but he sure didn't get ole handsome Al's looks!

Al Gore is the best candidate for President, though he doesn't even want to run anymore because of crap like this! Who can blame him? Disapointment son gets caught doing drugs and it's front page news! Instead of what is truly news and that is Global warming!

I don't blame you Al. Keep up with the Global warming and all the good that you do. I guess I'll vote for Edwards.. sigh!

369. Driving Under the Influence of Fame

The famous—Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Nichole Richie, Mel Gibson, Ty Pennington, Vivica A. Fox, Tracy Morgan, Haley Joel Osment, Michelle Rodriguez, George Michael, Ray Liotta, Mike Tyson, rap artist Eve and players in the NFL, NBA and MLB—all have one thing in common: driving under the influence. And the public outcry over Hilton’s release and reincarceration only underscores the fact that—famous or not—the nation wants something to be done about it. Find out what MADD has to say and the simple solution that could put an end to drunk driving.

In the last year, a great number of celebrities and high-profile sports figures have been arrested for committing drunk driving offenses. Among them, Paris Hilton has gotten the most attention—and public outrage. And for good reason.

Hilton has not taken responsibility for the fact she drank before getting behind the wheel, drove on a suspended drivers’ license and then appealed to the governor for leniency in her sentence for that offense. MADD believes she should accept full responsibility for her actions, especially since a vast young audience is watching her every move.

MADD also believes that Hilton should have an alcohol ignition interlock installed on her car so that she cannot drive drunk again. In fact, through our Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving, we are advocating for an ignition interlock to be placed on every car for all convicted drunk drivers.

The reason why people continue to drive drunk is because they can. And Hilton is a good example. She, like many others who have had their license suspended, continue to drive. Ignition interlocks would put an end to this as an interlock device prevents the car from being started if a measurable amount of alcohol is in the driver’s system. Courts across the country are too lenient on those who drive on suspended licenses due to drunk driving. In addition to jail time, fines and other sanctions, MADD would like to see at least a one-year interlock provision for those who drive on suspended licenses.

Armed with new data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which shows that drunk driving fatalities are higher than they have been in 15 years, MADD’s National Board met with Congressional leaders in June to ask them for an increased focus on drunk driving across the nation and to support MADD's Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving. In addition to ignition interlocks on all convicted drunk driver vehicles, the Campaign also calls for the exploration of new technologies to prevent a vehicle from being driven by someone who is drunk as well as increased enforcement and public support.

370. Gore III is a trust fund baby. Can't make it on his own. Works as a publisher like JFK' Jr. did. Another trust fund baby who couldn't make it.

Will likely end in tragedy.

He needs to change his name and get a job in construction next to the illegal aliens.

372.
I AM WONDERING WHY THIS IS SUCH A BIG DEAL.. IS AL GORE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT?? HE HAS SAID MANY TIMES THAT HE IS NOT. SO, WHY DOES 1 OUT OF THE 4 KIDS HE HAS WHO HAS A DRUG PROBLEM MAKE THE NEWS??

HIS DAUGHTERS ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE.. DOES THAT MAKE THE CUT? NOOOOOO..... BUSH'S DAUGHTERS ARE BOTH IMMATURE PARTY BABES. BUT WHAT THEY DO (OR MORE OFTEN, DON'T DO.. LIKE WORK..) NEVER MAKES THE PAPERS. WHY? BECAUSE DEMOCRATS DON'T USE IT TO DISCREDIT WHAT BUSH DOES! REPUBLICANS USE ANYTHING TO SLANDER, EVEN IF IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT GORE HIMSELF HAS DONE!

SMEAR CAMPAINING.. REPUBS ARE EXPERTS AT IT!

373. I THINK THE KID DID IT ON PURPOSE. THE FACT THAT HE DID THIS A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE LIVE EARTH CONCERT SHOW THAT HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR HIS FATHER AT ALL.

GORE PLAYED IT RIGHT THOUGH.. WHEN ASKED HE SAID THEY ARE GETTING HIS SON THE HELP HE NEEDS AND WE CHOOSE TO KEEP THIS A PERSONAL FAMILY MATTER. HE THEN WENT ON TO TALK ABOUT THE CONCERT. CLASS ACT ALL THE WAY.

HE SON IS NO CREDIT TO HIM, BUT HIS FOUR OTHER KIDS AND WIFE CERTAINLY ARE. HIS SON WAS ALSO HIT BY A CAR WHEN HE WAS 10 AND HAD EXTENSIVE SURGERIES. THAT COULD SCREW UP ANYBODY!

arrested in 2007 - drug related

and who knows how much more I'm missing. And this can go on for how long???

What makes it ok and frankly glamorized when these politician and hollyweird types put the rest of us at risk when they get on the damn road?

I'm fine with people praising Al Gore for his environmental beliefs. Hell, I do!

But it really can't be ignored that he and Tipper apparently sucked the big one as parents where their son was concerned.

375. Al's arrest occurred on the 5 freeway at Crown Valley Parkway. This is a very dangerous stretch of road that as recently as 8 weeks ago on May 4th, took the lives of 3 beautiful young children, Kyle, 5, Emma, 4, and Katie Coble, 2. There were no drugs or alcohol involved in that accident, but regardless, there is a blind curve and traffic backs up there.
Being under the influence of anything- drugs (legal or illegal), alcohol, cell phone usage, eating, putting on makeup, etc, impairs the drivers ability to react appropriately. Speeding at 100 MPH is just plain crazy there. Unfortunately for those that have to commute that route every day, there is always some insane a-hole who needs to get ahead of everyone else because he feels he is more important than those that share the road with him. Al is lucky he was stopped and did not crash- I think the little box he was driving is no match for the g-forces of a 100 MPH crash. Thank God he did not kill anyone in the process of whatever he was trying to prove. Driving is a priveledge, not a right- hopefully it is taken away from him for a long time.
