Asian Megastar Rain -- Snow Job in Hawaii?

The biggest pop star in all of Asia -- Rain -- is facing a hailstorm of legal trouble in the US. A Honolulu concert promoter claims in a federal lawsuit that the so-called Korean "Justin Timberlake" defrauded them out of more than $500,000, and never had any intention of performing in the first place. And we're told that the legal mud-slinging could just be starting.

Well-placed sources tells TMZ that local promoters in Los Angeles, where Rain also canceled a concert an hour-and-a-half before the gig, are contemplating millions of dollars in legal action against the singer and his management company. "It isn't going to be pretty," says one source. All in all, Rain canceled two gigs and postponed three among his five US dates, citing a trademark suit in Nevada and technical glitches for the missed gigs. (The New York and Atlanta shows are supposed to go on this fall.)

Rain's Korean promoter, StarM, blamed its local counterpart in L.A. of financial mismanagement for the while V2B Global (the local guys) said that StarM tried to use a giant LED screen that wasn't up to code and disputes StarM's accusations.

In the Hawaii suit, filed in US District Court late last month, local promoter Click Entertainment alleges that Rain and his managers and promoters actually knew they wouldn't be able to perform because of the trademark suit in Nevada, but booked the gig anyway.

The day after the axed L.A. show, Rain told the L.A. Times he felt "ridiculous" about the snafus, but that the Staples stage "wasn't set up." His reps didn't return calls for comment.

31. Steve and billyboy.

In reading these blogs covering a young, multi-talented, all-around exquisite Korean National entertainer who is attempting to become global, it is shocking that we still have a few (whether we have freedom of speech in our country) who still haven't made the leap into the 21st Century but remain locked in a 1950's mindset. I do wish you the best in your awakening process and, hopefully, you'll begin to open your heart and join the many who embrace goodness and beauty in this lifetime.

32. 'billyboy"... The name says it all. Even with having the title of lawyer can't contain your ignorance. Goes to show you how you got through undergrad and law school soley because of the color of your skin and gender. You and "Steve" as well as that Nurse idividual ( God forbid I ever need her to care for me)so need to be prayed over.

34. OMG Steve... you are an embarassment to me as a white, American woman! No wonder so many people hate us, because of people with attitudes like yours... ugh... you're disgusting. Yes you're entitled to your opinion, but when it is that blatantly offensive you should definitely know better!

So Asians aren't supposed to live in our neighborhoods, or "talk like us"?! What does that mean, they're not supposed to speak English? Honestly, you must be some redneck living in a trailer park, because anyone with such narrow minded views as yours obviously has little education, not to mention very little exposure to cultural diversity.

My advice, crawl back under the rock you came from...

36. Steve,
Last time I checked South Korea is a Republic and it is definitely NOT COMMUNIST. NORTH KOREA IS COMMUNIST. And last time I checked the United States was a melting pot which means you take pride in the diversity of the people and what each of them has to offer. As for calling Asians the most racist, that may well be but you are not responsible for their actions or words. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURS!!!! Why do you think Americans get a back name?????
Rain may be talented or not. I haven't listened but if he has fans in North America good for him. And who really knows what happened!!!

38. you guys all know that whatever racist comment you diecide to write on tmz is COMPLETELY meaningless and inconsequential. I'm starting yo begin to see the essence of these arguments. Underneath the outer layer, underneath the petty battles between words and insults, an evil hatred was brewing, slowly boiling to the surface. OR Maybe it was a battle of will: How long can you last before giving in?
The people who have a subconscious desire to write all these pointless things, I believe that you are very sad at yourself.
Do you hate yourself so much, that you are willing to write such harsh things about a culture you've never truely understood?
I'm not mad at you.
I pity you.
If the people who write these comments, can say it online,
why don't you guys just say it in person.
but, you guys probably won't, because you guys would be ashamed, and probably wouldn't be able to handle it.
I just hope that someday, you guys would be able to finally find happiness, and peace within your soul.

39. Billybob...you're a LAWYER? Guess they didn't teach you about speech codes in law school...whereever you went. If billybob, Steve, and "nurse" have the right to voice their negativity, then everyone else has the right to tell them otherwise.

40. Billyboy, you were also the first one to use the word "gaul"....grey_gose was quoting you. Again....how did you get to be a lawyer? You have extremely HORRIBLE memory.

43. As ignorant as some comments are .. most people are just trying to get under other peoples skin by posting borderline or racist (or what have you) comments. Just ignore them!! It's not like some user on heres opinion really matters, so why waste the energy. And I know some will say you can't ignore it , no matter the context. To some degree thats true, but on the internet you need to ignore more than you let affect you.

44. You guys can't call them racist. Seems more like a serious case of Xenophobia to me.

I feel sad for these poor, disillusioned people living in their little world.

Don't worry though. You can recover from this dreadful disease with plenty of therapy, which is readily available within US itself.

There is hope!

45. If you people don’t know him you should keep you mouth shut. And get to know him before you say something that makes you like an idiot.
