Gore III Does 100 -- in a Prius?! Huh?

When Al Gore III was busted for speeding and drug possession yesterday, people were shocked that the former VP's son was arrested. Even more shocking ... who knew you could jam a Prius to 100 mph?!?!

The eco-friendly status symbols are known for being good for the environment -- not for shredding up the asphalt. A Car and Driver magazine test back in 2004 showed the Prius took a whopping 39.6 seconds to hit 100 mph. Not exactly Jeff Gordon material.

If Lil' Gore really wanted to speed, he should have gone with a Bugatti Veyron -- it hits the century mark in 5.5 seconds!

P.S....and the American public doesn't buy this "oh I'm going to go to rehab" we all know it is a ploy to: a) divert attention away from the "real issue, " and b) an attempt to escape punishment. Let's hope he GETS Paris Hilton's Judge.

19. Al Sr. blows his carbon credits flying private jets and young ECO-Gore speeds, snorts and tokes on a spleef . Then a teary eyed Al on the Today Show, Now Peta wants no meat products at the ECO-concert, the performers at the concerts are flying in on thier private jets, their limos, with an entourage that could generate enough methane to light LA for a year. Sounds like a great sitcom.

22. Since his family has gotten him off without punishment on all of his previous arrests it will be interesting to see them buy him out of this. Young Gore should do some jail time like Paris did. I am tired of the rich and famous buying their kids these get out of jail cards over and over.

27. Kennedy kids are the only ones who get out of stuff. Think Reagan kids, Bush himself, drunk driving, drugs, and daughters underage drinking, they got out of it. What about Libby???? 29. Let's see...Gore the 2nd flies around using a private jet - and polluting, Gore the 3rd "flies low" on drugs and in a Prius...and does anyone remember when Tipper made a whole to-do about lyrics and rock music (before hubby was VP). Wonder what sonny boy listens to when he gets high.....

30. At least he did it CARBON NEUTRAL?!?!? How the hell do you figure that? Everyone thinks that hybrid= good for the environment when the truth is it has a LOT more to do with how you dirve. He's been arrested for speeding several times now, in excess of 90 MPH in that Hybrid. Since a hybrid has to carry the weight of 2 engines you would get WORSE gas mileage than a Ford F150 at that speed. Somewhere in the range of 6 MPG. A Prius fully loaded with passengers gets worse mileage than Ford Taurus. Do the math.
