Gore III Does 100 -- in a Prius?! Huh?

7/5/2007 12:36 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

When Al Gore III was busted for speeding and drug possession yesterday, people were shocked that the former VP's son was arrested. Even more shocking ... who knew you could jam a Prius to 100 mph?!?!
Al Gore III, Toyota Prius
The eco-friendly status symbols are known for being good for the environment -- not for shredding up the asphalt. A Car and Driver magazine test back in 2004 showed the Prius took a whopping 39.6 seconds to hit 100 mph. Not exactly Jeff Gordon material.

If Lil' Gore really wanted to speed, he should have gone with a Bugatti Veyron -- it hits the century mark in 5.5 seconds!

Way to go kid. Your parents must be so proud. Isn't it comforting to know that the ex vp's kid is blasted out of his mind flying around on public roads at 100 mph. Hope they take his license away for a long time. What a punk.

I drive a Prius... and yes, it can go 100. It's a real honest to goodness highway worthy car... just clean, quiet and oh so easy on the gas. I love it.

But I don't love Gore Jr. giving it a bad name.

Al please go home and tend to your son's life before it's completely lost. You and all of your "for the children" speeches mean nothing if your own children die before they can reap the benefits of your various hypocrital causes. Using a phrase like "for the children" designed specifically to further your cause by aiming at America's guilt was a cheap thing to do given your own present situation. You've lost all credibility with me now. Go get your own house in order then you can come back an resume telling me how to live.
