Controversy Makes Kelly Smile

It's been quite a year for Kelly Clarkson. From the look of this outfit she was caught wearing at the airport in NYC, it may be taking its toll.

The Grammy-winning singer was looking more like a 15-year-old pizza boy than a young starlet. All she's missing is her skateboard! Not that we're expecting her to doll it up just to spend a few hours on a plane, but this thrown-together neo-emo mess is starting to be a signature look for the idol winner.

A little effort will go a long way ... as you can see.

19. Its not about how shes wearing a tshirt and jeans! its how she wears it!! and that Hat sooo... I dont know.. ugly.. She can sing. she has an amazing voice but she needs to take care of herself! she looks like she doesnt care about her look.. she's not just wearing a tee and jeans shes pale and she has let herself go.. no one can argue against that.

p.s. its great she doesnt weigh less then 100lbs but shes curvy so she needs to dress up better.. baggy clothes on a curvy girl just make her look so nasty... in other words

I’m sure you were comparing her to Scott Joplin and not Janis Joplin! If you were comparing her to Janis Joplin, I’m afraid you don’t have a clue and never will. Be careful who you compare someone to. In this case you’re comparing a Mercedes Benz to a Chevy.

No, it isn't. Usually newbies are puppets making other people the most money until they're not hot anymore and are dropped. Kelly is the captain of her own ship, and even though she may not sell as many cd's short term, it may benefit her far more financially and career wise long term. I have to admire that. A whole lot. She's under new management. Hope it works out for her.

25. Kelly is not fat... she looks normal, people are just used to seeing girls that stick their fingers down theirs throats and starve themselves into skeltons. All you haters are probably miserable people and only wished that you had her talent. She has one of the best voices out there and I know that Rebas husband will work the rest for her. Her new CD is great and I like the fact that shes chosen to be different this time.. WTG Kelly!!!

27. Jeans and T-shirts are standard casual wear at this point for almost any gender or age group. Personally I thought "she looks so cute" before I even read TMZ's sniping text.

30. seriously who cares. she probably lives a much happier life than most celebs NOT CARING so much about how she looks. and isn't she famous for her VOICE, not her fashion sense?
