Criminal Probe Into Anna's Prescriptions

TMZ has learned the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is conducting a criminal investigation into several doctors who prescribed various medicines to Anna Nicole Smith.

Sources tell TMZ the DOJ's Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement has contacted Larry Birkhead, Big Mo (Anna's bodyguard) and others. We're told DOJ is particularly interested in two doctors -- Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor. TMZ broke the story that Dr. Kapoor prescribed methadone to Anna under an assumed name when she was eight months pregnant. Dr. Eroshevich ordered a virtual pharmacy of drugs for Anna, five days after her son Daniel died.

Dr. Eroshevich, who was in the Bahamas with Anna, sent the prescription wish list to Dr. Kapoor. Kapoor's attorney, Ellyn Garofalo, told TMZ "Dr. Kapoor declined the request for prescriptions. He would never prescribe that combination of drugs, in such large dosages, to any patient."

The Medical Board of California launched its own investigation of the two doctors earlier this year. That investigation is pending.

By the way, TMZ has learned Dr. Kapoor is in the process of having twins via a surrogate.

17087. Does anyone know when was the last time Anna talked to her son without Howard being right there? How long had it been since she had physically seen Danniel other than the last day of his life? How much time did Anna spend talking to her son by themselves after he got to the Bahamas? I wonder how threatened Howard really felt. If Daniel was trying to hire an investigator then he may have had a hard time hiding his feeling when he was alone with Howard. When did Daniel find out about Dannielynn being born? Did Anna call him?

I never thought about it until yesterday, but I thought it rather odd that Anna was released from the hospital the day her son died. Don't you find that rather odd? Then it occurred to me that maybe Stern felt he had to get Anna away from anywhere anyone could hear her. He could not afford to let her continue to rant, "You killed my son!" Maybe he took her to the Horizons and he and Dr. Drugstore Eroshevitch started her extreme drug program.

I believe that when Anna's testimony is read at the inquest , it will say she has no memory of the events that took place that day. That is because they were giving her high doses of medication that effect people's memories. The problem is you can not keep people on this amount of medication without eventually killing them. Oh wait...they did kill her!

17091. Perhaps you aren't aware that in addition to screaming at Howard in the hospital that he caused Daniel's death, Anna also presistently told him after she got home that she trusted him and that he killed her son. The Nannies testified to that, and why would they lie?

17093. The Nannies testified to that, and why would they lie? Howard went looking for them and they went into hiding, too, according to their statements. ALSO, Anna accused Howard at Daniel's funeral, asked people to get Howard away from her, and she pushed him away from her so hard he fell down. She repeatedly asked Howard to leave, and she asked the Nannies if he had left. But no, he certainly had no intention of leaving after all he had accomplished for himself, and she left and is buried and in the ground, but Howard refused to leave the Horizons even after Anna's death!!!

Are you talking about the nannies who confessed that they DID lie about saying Anna wanted the baby underfed? Those nannies? Why would they lie? Didn't they say they were being paid by Shelley and Thompson to lie, for money? That's why they'd lie. That's why they lied - they admitted it. Are there other nannies?

And if Anna did feel the way you make note of, above, why didn't any of Anna's friends (who were at the funeral) ever speak of this? Moe, the dress designer who brought his teenaged daughter...I've seen them interviewed and they never said anything even remotely like what you've said above. Are they all being paid off by Howard? I thought Howard didn't have any money. Did all these "friends" of Anna actually hate Anna so much that they would keep Howard in Anna's presence even though she yelled at Howard to get lost and pushed him to the ground at the funeral? There were several people there...wouldn't ANY of them have come to Anna's aid if she did indeed want Howard out? I don't see Howard as a powerful or intimidating force who would scare any of those people away, and I can't see how they could all be bought off by him, either.

There are a lot of holes in what you're saying, not the least of which is that there is a lot of footage of Anna and Howard and they are very much together from the birth of DL to the a few days before Anna's death. She never looks like she wants Howard out and gone. She always looks like she wants him there.

I have a very hard time believing the negative comments about Howard because they never come from people who were close to Anna in the last months of her life. They are always from people who were kicked out of her life (Jackie Hatten, Bobby Trendy, Virgie). None of the people who were her friends and were in her life up to her death ever said anything of the sort, except for the nannies who admitted they were paid to lie. If any of these people came forward and said one negative thing about Howard, I would be much more likely to believe it.

Yeah, right, what can't you take into that pea brain of yours? HOWARD took Anna to see Ben and Ford and ASKED them for help with living in the Bahamas. It was said that RON RALE was involved in off shore investments, and he and HOWARD were the clever ones. Anna was putty in Howard's hands, and she had NO CLUE she and her son would be dead in a few months and that Howard would be squatting in the house Ben let HER live in, and that he would be in possession of her properties, her possessions and her infant daughter. Your language is all I need to know about the caliber person you are and your lies are all I need to know about your character, and of course we know Anna and Daniel were given a lethal overdose of drugs. No, dumb bell, we can't change the facts of what happened, but we can continue to fight for justice, and we will, and all your screaming in caps won't change a thing, and neither will your lies. Yes it is the authorities that make the final determination. It seems to appear that the Florida authorities have turned their backs on the blatant illegality of this case in regard to fraudulently obtained pharmaceuticals. Law enforcement should not be able to pick and chose who they allow to abscond from laws that apply to everyone of us living in this country. If it is illegal for me it is illegal for you it is illegal for Howard.

17098. The inquest into Daniel's death will be a major turning point in this case. To date we have had the nannies interviewed on the Mr. Controversy site, and the slander that they were "paid to lie." Where did that story come from?

Let's get everyone in court and hear their testimony. If Stern has done no wrong, he has nothing to fear. He has afterall great lawyers working for him and powerful people in the Bahamas to assist him. I'm sure Eric and Brigitte will take him under their roof when he is evicted from Horizons.
