Criminal Probe Into Anna's Prescriptions

TMZ has learned the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is conducting a criminal investigation into several doctors who prescribed various medicines to Anna Nicole Smith.

Sources tell TMZ the DOJ's Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement has contacted Larry Birkhead, Big Mo (Anna's bodyguard) and others. We're told DOJ is particularly interested in two doctors -- Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor. TMZ broke the story that Dr. Kapoor prescribed methadone to Anna under an assumed name when she was eight months pregnant. Dr. Eroshevich ordered a virtual pharmacy of drugs for Anna, five days after her son Daniel died.

Dr. Eroshevich, who was in the Bahamas with Anna, sent the prescription wish list to Dr. Kapoor. Kapoor's attorney, Ellyn Garofalo, told TMZ "Dr. Kapoor declined the request for prescriptions. He would never prescribe that combination of drugs, in such large dosages, to any patient."

The Medical Board of California launched its own investigation of the two doctors earlier this year. That investigation is pending.

By the way, TMZ has learned Dr. Kapoor is in the process of having twins via a surrogate.

We already knew they were being investigated by the medical boards. We knew they overprescribed for ANS? WHAT IS NEW HERE? CAL DOJ? That's good isn't it? What does this have to do with Stern? This is your opportunity to redeem yourself as the biological father of the beautiful daughter you created with Anna Nicole Smith. Your daughter's mother and her half-brother, Daniel Wayne Smith, need to be honored more in this way (seeking untampered truth and justice) than building a memorial in The Bahamas when they both died of drug overdoses and only five months apart!

There are too many unknowns in this story and it appears too much has gotten side-stepped (loopholes in the legal system) or swept under the carpet!

If someone is not charged in this story, there is something terribly wrong with our system! Dr. Perper stated that Anna Nicole Smith could have lived had those present with her in Florida had gotten her the professional care she deserved. Larry Birkhead, we know you were not one of them and, therefore, not responsible; however, it is your responsibility as the biological father of Dannielynn to make certain Anna Nicole's and Daniel Wayne Smith's death are fully investigated (no stones left unturned).

You do not need the inner circle for money--you can earn plenty of money yourself on behalf of your daughter!

DOJ is involved for a REASON, whatever way you slice it, no one is lying. Too many FACTS!

If you condone drugs and want Stern to be absolved then let the law decide. Either way heinous crimes were committed and now it's time to see justice done. If you are adverse to justice, stay on the EBAY site.

Additionally, celebrity blog TMZ has a gotten it's hands on a prescription dated August 25, 2006 written to a Michelle Chase for 500 ml of methadone. Michelle Chase is another name Anna Nicole uses. This is what makes the prescriptions illegal as according to California law, it's illegal to give a false name or false address "in connection with the prescribing, furnishing, administering, or dispensing of a controlled substance."
And finally another air bill shows that on the same day a package with 500 ml of methadone was sent to Vicky Marshall in the Bahamas. TMZ said they were told one of the reasons Larry Birkhead broke up with Anna Nicole is because she was doing drugs while pregnant. Birkhead says Stern facilitated Anna Nicole's drug use.
