Miss NJ Won't Submit to Snaps Shakedown

The beauty queen from New Jersey who's being blackmailed over a few supposedly racy pictures is refusing to give in to the Internet-trolling slimeball who's trying to get her dethroned.

In a defiant press conference yesterday, Amy Polumbo, who won the Miss New Jersey crown last month, said that she would not "quietly disappear," even after getting a package in the mail with pictures and a demand that she quit by today. Her lawyer, Anthony Caruso, wouldn't say how spicy the shots were, only that they weren't "that bad" and that she's pictured "with friends." Er, like Katie Rees and friends?

Neither Miss America nor Miss New Jersey pageant officials commented on the situation. Polumbo will compete in the Miss America pageant -- if she keeps her state crown.

All the news reports I have watched never said any of that. So I do believe you know her as you claim, your attempting to spin it for her.

No mention of any "doctoring" at her news conference today and Miss New Jersey said "they were not nudes" NOT the news reports.

The news casters remain suspicious as they should be.

The photos were placed on the internet by the woman herself!
But only meant for her "friends & family" to see....We will see.

I think that a young woman that will stand up and say "no more" to an attempt at professional and emotional terrorism in whatever form would be someone that I would like my daughters to look up to. There is not much innocence after infancy, however there is a lot of BS that follows. Therefore it is easy to make missteps on our journey. Having the strength and intelligence to grow and learn from them is key. WAY TO GO AMY!! Since you are not quitting and soon we may see what is on the outside, get up on that stage and show what is on the inside. That is presumably why you won the NJ title.

23. I don't get it. If the pictures are not racy and not a big deal, as her defenders are stating, why wouldn't she just ignore the so-called "blackmailers?" Unless this is just a blatant, attention-seeking publicity stunt, the whole scenario makes absolutely no sense. I'm embarrassed for her. Sounds like she lives in a fantasy world.

26. I too know Amy Polumbo. I've seen her private pics. She hasn't posed for a nude photo since her mother bathed her in the kitchen sink at 6 months old. However, some photos that would be considered normal to most people would be considered scandalous to the Miss America organization, especially when the blackmailer had added his or her own lewd comments underneath them. Every reporter in the nation has been searching for the 'dirty' pictures and nobody has found anything. If they were nude photos out there, someone would have cashed them in by now. She is not looking for publicity, just defending the crown that she won fair and square.
