Hook-ups
My Big Fat French Wedding

There's nothing desperate about Eva Longoria & Tony Parker's wedding this weekend in Paris. Rumors are that the pint-sized beauty's $30,000 wedding cake was going to be made by chef Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings, who made the cake for Oprah's 50th. Rather than fly the cake from Napa Valley to Paris, Tony put his spur down and demanded the cake be made in France! Enough dough!

The reception will be held at the Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, which rents for the princely sum of $50,000 -- for just five hours! What if the couple wants to party all night? That'll cost 'em extra. Although it appears that the newlyweds needn't worry about cost -- TMZ has confirmed OK! magazine is paying $2 million for exclusive wedding pics that include the honeymoon. Cha-ching!

VIP wedding guests Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Mario Lopez are jetting to France aboard a private plane chartered by Eva and Tony. We checked with Luxury Air Jets (not the one Eva used) to find out what that would cost, and they told us that a similar plane to a 757 would cost upwards of $165,000 -- each way -- not including food!

The couple registered at Tiffany for items ranging from a silver scalloped bowl -- for the bargain price of $1500 -- to silver swizzle sticks for $100. Keepin' it simple.

Celebrity wedding planner Lisa Vorce of Oh, How Charming! has planned numerous celeb nuptials, including actress Jeri Ryan's, which was also in France. She says, "The average person can dream of things like wearing custom couture, riding in a vintage Rolls Royce to the Oscars, and drinking the finest champagne -- for some celebrities, these great parties and the fine food and wine are way of life. Nothing seems outrageous to me in the celeb wedding world. If they want a $30,000 cake, then get them one!"

Eva and Tony did get one break when Longoria's mane man, Ken Paves, did her hair up for free -- his gift to her.

62. Vaux-le-Vicomte is an absolutely fabulous place for a wedding, especially this time of year; its like a mini-Versailles.

64. TS, Tony and Eva r getting coverage because it is there big day. Nothing else going on right now is a good thing. Means no celebs r out getting DUI's. good news day to me. U probably look at the glass half empty while most will take the positive and look at it half full.

65. To al of you griping about the excess and cost................

In their income bracket that is normal excess. Regular middle class American weddings can top 25,000 to 30, 0000 if not more! Leave them alone it`s THEIR day not ours and they can do what they want to. Hope they have loads of fun.

66. This is so delicious! Inviting paparazzi along on the honeymoon, now there's a newlywed couple displaying their class and distinction, by golly.

I'ma go out on a limb here and bet any of you a nickel there are Tony-straying sitings within one year.

p.s. Is it just me, or is his face icky?

67. Wish them the best but I'm still mad that Parker and his crew beat the Cavs - from a native Clevelander!

68. Eva who? Oh yeah, that sl*t that extols the pleasures of vibrators. Who gives a flying fig... they could feed thousands of starving children in Africa for what they are spending on this attention getting spectacle. Low class, no class............. a few years from now, no one will know who they are.....

70. It's great that they are getting the wedding of their dreams, best wishes to them both :) It may just be me, but how do you have an intimate wedding when it gets this extravagant though? The best thing about a wedding is the celebrating with your close friends and family. Sharing all those wonderful moments just with them. It seems like all the Hollywood people and extra guests would get in the way of that. Maybe the vows before the Justice of the Peace they made today filled some of that need for intimacy, or maybe it's not important to them. Just curious I guess, as I never wanted a huge wedding and didn't have one.

73. They both make alot of money. So why sell the wedding and honeymoon photos to a magazine. I think those memories should be private. Only for them and thier friends and family! Good luck 2 both of them.

74. Eva and Tiny are not the first to do so, and it is their money anyway -- but I find it nauseating that anybody would spend so much money on a CAKE!

......meanwhile so much of the world is starving.

75. Yes, Tony can play great basketball. However, he needs to remain silent and not speak. He's dumb as dirt.
