Sharpton to TMZ: "Roboho" a Big No No

Al SharptonNational Action Network President Al Sharpton has set his sights on TMZ.com over the word "Roboho" in a fashion piece that was published two weeks ago:

"Calling any woman a "ho" is demeaning and abusive and it should not be tolerated on any level. It is intolerable to think that TMZ.com would find humor in calling Beyonce -- someone who symbolizes the strength, dignity and uplifting of Black women -- a "Roboho," and they should be denounced by the entire community for glorifying the continued oppression of women with this derogatory term. Racism in America is perpetuated by ignorance and hate and using one's airwaves or media entity to promote it is a blatant setback to civil rights and the advancement of equality.

National Action Network has been in the forefront of protesting the word "ho" and will hold a 20-city tour featuring 100 women in each market on August 7th to protest the use of the word "ho" as well as the "N" and "B" words. We encourage TMZ.com to retract their misogynistic labeling of Beyonce and apologize immediately."

46. That's mild compared to the horrible racist remarks I saw today in the Perez Hilton comments area referring to Sienna Miller and P. Diddy. Rev. Sharpton should take a look at that!

47. Al Sharpton is a racist, loudmouthed ignorant riot-inducer who (people seem to forget) backed up a lying Tawana Brawley who claimed to be raped by white men and had feces smeared on her. The man accused almost had his life and reputation destroyed. He sued Sharpton and won monetary damages, but had a hell of a time getting paid by Sharpton. I despise him. When a white man is killed by blacks, where is he? When a black man is killed by blacks, where is he? He only shows his ridiculous looking hair when he can cause people to hate each other even more.

I'm sure that Beyonce's southern Grandmother tought her that at a young age. Just like mine did. Mine also tought me to pick my battles. This isn't one worth fighting, Al. Wait your time. 53. Where has Sharpton been all these years the rappers have been using FOUL words and language in their lyrics? Not until Imus says something that upsets him, and public opinion urges him to step up to the plate over the rap music, does he come out and attack any and everything that even suggests the "ho" word. "Too little, too late" seems like to me! Concentrate on the rappers........our children do not need to be infiltrated with all the "trash" they hear and see.

56. I lot of misplaced priorities I don't know why Al Sharpton is trolling TMZ.com or
someone else is trolling TMZ for him, doesn't he need to be more concerned about more
important things than this site. Even though a lot of people wear a lot of unmarketable
crap at award shows, I don't think Beyonce should be titled a roboho.

60. There is no room for racism in America. It should be stamped out forever. Anyone looking at the color of someone's skin or their religious beliefs to pass judgment on them as no place here.
