16. Wow, an American that does good and still gets negative press. He does more tohelp people than a conservative preacher! Sad how some will still believe the rumors in the media. 17. Ty and crew are in Corvallis, Oregon now. I saw him at a local watering hole last Friday night. A lot of mixed feelings around town about their presence. The show is building a 4000 sq ft home for what is definitely a needy family (young daughter with cancer), but that is just one family. Think of the resources poured into each job! How many needy families could they help if they spread the wealth?

18. Ty Pennington is an ass in almost every city that he goes to. Once you get onto the Forbes Richest Celebs List I guess you feel that you can walk all over people. I have heard that every other designer on that show is GREAT and wonderful to work with, but that Ty gives the show a bad name once they come to your town.

So don't judge the show based on the "TV magic" that you see, listen to the people that have actually encountered him who will agree that he is a pompous ass. I realize that celebrities can be busy, but they still have to remember who made them celebs in the first place.

I am proud that Big Jay stood up to this "Mega Star in His Own Mind". It is good to see small town America standing up to the "Big City".

Im from Billings and was listening to the station which is my favorite, and all Big J was trying to do is to have Ty let the people of Billings know that they were appreciated for all their hard work. The people of Billings deserve to know that!! All week Big J was on the phone trying to get just 10 minutes of Ty's precious time to call in to the station and he couln't even do that until he was finally being bashed. Ty is a jackass and puts on a pretty face for the cameras. For all the volunteers and crews that dedicated their time and efforts for these peiple in need you ROCK!!

22. Hey Rusty! Here's how you spell t-r-a-i-l-e-r. You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. It's no rumor, Ty was staggering drunk several nights in a row and this was witnessed by hundreds of people. He wasn't in the bars drumming up donations, people, get real. As a Billings Native I am highly offended. We offer world class, year-round recreational opportunities and the finest medical facilities and physicians in a 5-state area. Funny, we have lots of Californians and East Coasters moving here because it's such a beautiful, cool place to live. Did you know alot of celebrities own ranches closeby? They do so because we aren't star-struck or impressed by pompous celebrity jackasses like Ty. EHM didn't build that house - the hearts and hands of the local volunteers did. He just shows up for the money shots. If only a TMZ camera had caught all this on film! And the DJ, Big J helps dozens of local families every Christmas with his "Santa Clause for a Cause" program. I invite anyone who wants to bash our town to come on up, I'll show you what we think of people like Rusty.

23. S the man made a mistake! Whether he gets slamming A** drunk should not be more relevent than what he does. ABC hired him and I think it was a good choice. Drugs do not account for him being hyped up, ADHD does! I am a mother of a child with ADHD and believe me he doesn't want to be that hyped.
As far as the building of dream homes, it is great! I personally suffered a tragedy that disabled me at the age of thirty. I have thnree children. I already had my home and the fact thnat it is not handicapped friendly is no fault of mine. Am I supposed to give up my land and move?
Bad things happen to good people, so someone offers hope in an otherwise hopeless situation, when did that become a bad thing.
Ty hears tragic stories every day, so he doesn't go around kissing everybody's A**, why should he? Heck I'd be surprised if he didn't drink.
As far as Ty sunning himself by his trailer, having ADHD is exhausting and having relaxed moments are rare, leave him the He** alone.
Why wasn't DJ J there on site helping? I'm sure the Santa gig is the radio station's idea and he sits back and takes credit. Wow isn't that what you are accusing Ty of?
Ty is a very special person as are all of the designers and workers. Every team needs a leader and whether you like it or not ABC CHOSE TY AS THE LEADER, GET OVER IT ALREADY, OR SWITCH THE CHANNEL!

24. Everyone just forget what Montana Proud said, Believe Rusty-- the entire state is nothing but run down trailers and gun-toting, homophobic, alcoholic cowboys with bow-legs. Oh yeah, polluted air, lakes and streams too. Whatever you do, DO NOT COME TO MONTANA!!!!!! Stay in California, Texas or wherever else you are. It's better there. Trust me....

25. Ty was in my hometown filming one of his shows. My son and daughter are big fans and were excited to watch the filming. There were only about 40 people there and when they tried to approach him - he said he would sign an autograph later. We waited for hours and finally he said he would sign autographs. We were about 10th in line (of only about 20 people) and he took off after about three people. He comes off as a nice guy on tv - but he really disappointed my five and ten year old. They were within feet of him and patiently waited after he promised an autograph and got nothing. When the show aired - they didn't even watch because they were so disillusioned after meeting him. I thought he was a good role model for my kids - but we got a big shock after meeting him. His attitude all day was horrible - he really has no use for his fans in my opinion. After meeting him - I totally believe he blew off local reporters.

26. I vote for Ty over any of the media prossies any day. At least he is trying to do some sort of good. I think the jury is still out on P Hilton. We're still waiting for her to make good on her promises of helping some cause, some charity, something of any of her lies she told on L King. And there are so many more who could be doing some good for at least one family (like TY) but all I read about is how they are feeding their egos and using drugs and alcohol to entertain themselves.

27. Well we are from Billings, MT and it is a very nice place to live. I thought that the story was about Ty Pennington and Big J. Big J does not speak for all of Billings and i think that it is crap that the story has turned into a big Billings, MT. bashing session. We personally did not come in contact with Ty but i heard both great things and bad things about him. He was asked twice to do an interview and he said he would and then the day of he kept canceling. The other part that i know for a fact is that Ty Pennington was more than willing to talk to the Kids from the Boys and Girls club and talk to them about his experiences. Either way i don't think that bashing Billings, MT has anything to do with the story so get over it.

29. IF anyone is the jackass, it's Big J, the radio announcer. He is nothing but a punk who stirs up controversy about everything in town. What a bully! Who can't see that he just wanted a brush with fame and started pouting like a baby when he didn't get his 2 second soundbite with Ty?? I bet he is just SOOOOO pleased with this little bit of fame... it totally validates his pathetic need for negative attention.

I worked at the house here in Billings. I saw Ty working there. A close friend of mine worked with him in the greenhouse and said he was charming and kind.

I didn't see Big J and his big mouth doing anything positive to help this family.

30. Glimmerdrive....here's an fyi for you...just because Ty or anyone else for that matter has 1 dui offense, does NOT an alcoholic (alchy/alkie) make, ok? Second, he's not a coke head. He stated in an ET interview that the LAPD that arrested him for the DUI, the charge was alcohol OR drugs...NOT alcohol AND drugs. So, where you get that he definitely did drugs and was busted for at the same time as the drunk driving, is beyond me. We should be grateful that Ty is even owning up to this and taking responsibility or doing what he did and is being adult enough to hold himself accountable. Hell, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and just regular people don't do that when they are busted for the same thing. And as for him being all crazy on the show, guess you don't know that Ty suffers from ADHD. He's a spokesperson for them. And, I DO know what ADHD is, as I have a sibling that suffers from it, 2 nephews that suffer from it, and another nephew that has ADD.

For the other negative comments - ie that he's not that hot in person - who cares. Maybe y'all are just jealous because you can't get with him because you don't have what it takes. Or the cajones. I know I wouldn't want to date any celebrity - Ty or anyone else for that matter - only because I don't care to live my life in their community fishbowl. Personally, I would rather see Ty and the crew on Sundays, instead of hearing about poor little pathetic Paris, Nicole Richie, Lindsay, Britney every other damn second. That bunch is a complete and total waste of time, space, and air. When they all stop acting like they are above the law and start doing something REAL, then I MIGHT want to hear about it. Until then, stay off of my news. Damn bunch of whiny. cry baby, sniveling anorexics. My toothpicks have more meat on them than you do on your skeletons.
