The Unbe-weave-able "Hairspray" Premiere

Last night's "Hairspray" premiere was certainly a hair-raising affair.
John Travolta & Queen Latifah
Two of the flick's leading ladies, Queen Latifah and an out-of-drag John Travolta, walked the red carpet with some truly terrible tresses on their heads.

While Latifah was obviously rocking a wig, going Gwen Stefani platinum blonde, Travolta, who shaved his head back in April, showed off some ludicrous, long and luxurious locks of his own. Sadly, John's Edna Turnblad wig would have been more believable!

34. One reason I like John because he doesn't seem to cram Scientology down our throats. I have not seen this new movie, so it will be interesting how he covers the role we are all used to; Divine playing Edna and uttering that infamous line:
"Tracy Turnblatt, My diet pill is wearing off, and I've got a lot of ironing left to do."
I have alot of admiration for John and Queen and wish them luck

35. 1. John Travolta is wearing a wig
2. He's gay. A few years ago, his ex boyfriend was about to do a tell-all when he all of a sudden married Kelly Preston, who was an up and coming star with persistent gay rumours about her too. Her career died out but his (sort of) survived
3. His son is autistic, but they are in total denial or believe that they can "fix" it with BS scientology crap.
4. Scientologist think that psychiatry is the most evil thing on the planet and they "don't believe" in psychiatric conditions such as psychosis, depression etc or neurpsychological disorders such as autism. A few years ago, they killed a woman who suffered from a nervous beakdown, she was found dehydrated and covered in insect bites. The family sued, the case was settled out of court and the records are sealed, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_McPherson There are others

For more info about just what kind of freaks the scientologists are, read this award-winning article in Time magazine http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,972865,00.html

36. How sad, the fact that John Travolta has a child with autism but refuses any kind of treatment for the child. A boy trapped in a world where he can neither speak nor communicate with anyone.
I will never pay to see a movie with his name on it.
signed, teacher of autisic children.

P.SJohn these kids are capable of doing amazing things they can learn to communicate but they cant learn behind the teaching of a cult such as scientology.

40. Is this the only black woman that Hollywood can find? So sick of seeing her. She isnt even that good of an actress!

41. Scientology does not like anything to do with gays.

42. Take a close look about 1/4" below Travolta's hair line on his forehead - you can see the line where they tried to cover up the edge of the wig with makeup!!! ROFLMAO

And yes, I have also heard his eldest son, Jett, is autistic. Someone mentioned that the child is obese, and that is another common trait (why, I don't know) of autistic children. My godson is autistic, and with proper education and therapy I have learned these special children are capable of communicating with others - many of them are truly brilliant!

43. I love most all of his movies, and that's all I really care about. This one looks rather silly however.
All the other stuff about his religion or beliefs, his hair I don't care about, I don't have to live with him, just enjoy his talent.

44. His hair trumps Trump's. Don't care for the make-up, tho...a bit of sun on natural skin would be much sexier. Too bad about the scientology. It seems extreme.

No one on here knows what they do for their son, nor how much they love him. I wonder if he was immunized - a discontinued ingredient used in immunization in the early nineties has been allegedly fingered as a possible cause of an increase in autism cases during those years. Robert Kennedy Jr. wrote an interesting article about it in Rolling Stone (archived) a few years back. Godspeed to John and Kelly and their special son.

45. Vaccinations do NOT cause autism!!!! Jebus christ, ONE nutjob published ONE article and everyone jumps on the bandwagon but when several major studies by actual scientists and statisticians prove OVER and OVER and OVER again that the article was WRONG, he interpreted data WRONG, people don't listen. I don't know of anything that has been so thoughrougly proved than the fact that there is absolutely no link between vaccinations and autism. By real scientist that is. There are still nuts out there with dubious (to say the least) merits who keep insisting that there is a link. I know of at least five major international studies, all who examined tens of thousand cases EACH who all said that there is no link. Why don't you people listen to those, properly conducted studies instead of the flawed studies, conducted by people who don't know the first thing about statistics or how to gather and interpret data?
