17. So the only reason we should watch this show is because Katie's divorced, too? Give me a break. That's like saying that I should vote for the cutest candidate for president. Katie Couric made a choice. She has to live with it. She makes a lot of money to make the slings and arrows of life a little less painful. When I want news I watch CNN or MSNBC.

19. She conducted herself atrociously in regards to Steven Cojocaru.
She gave the most insensitive interview I have ever seen in my life with Jessica Lynch, making me cringe with compassion for Jessica.
She is a millionaire, not the typical single mother, which I am, who struggles financially and does not have access to nannys and maids.
She deserves respect as a human being on this planet, but does not deserve professional respect because she is a "single mom". I'm sorry her husband died; I'm sure that was an unspeakable tragedy. It does not excuse her behavior towards others.

20. I'm female, yet I find it rather sexist to support someone for being a woman, getting up and being "perky." Why not watch based on merit, the quality of her work, the worthiness of her reporting? I for one don't watch (and never did before Katie), and find it a bit insulting that I'm encouraged to tune in because she manages to get dressed and happens to be female.

23. Now, I think she has had some hard knocks, with the loss of her husband, and then sister. For those, I do wish her well, and sorry those things happened. But like anyone, male or female, she took a chance when she left her job for this one. I don't like watching her, but that is just me. I don't watch people because they are either male or female, I watch because they can hold my interest. She does not. That is why we have choices. So, stick with her because she is female??? That is pure bunk. You stick with your favorite because you like the way in which the present the news. I wish her well, but she is not my type of news person.

She has made a ton of money and Is probably independently wealthy at this point. How about helping and supporting those who are far less fortunate.

Nobody "owes" Katie anything, as far as watching her. She makes more than ALL the male anchors COMBINED, and in the TV world, she is not bringing in the ratings.

Les Moonves will not admit that he made a mistake, and they have tried everything --- we are too sexist, we are too stupid to watch her; all women should watch her; all divorced women should watch her. I don't like her politics. I get my news from the internet, talk radio and sometimes Fox news. So hang me, already. The Mainstream Media is too biased for me.

27. Your comments: I think part of Katie's success on the morning show was
being that early morning "perky" person. People that watch early in the a.m.
are usually perky people ready to grab the day by the tail.
Unfortunately, I AM NOT a morning person so i never enjoyed watching
her on the morning show so I turned it off. But, I AM an
evening/night person so watching the evening news IS something I
enjoy. But not on CBS. Her perkiness needs to be reserved for the
morning - not the evening! And, I am not prompted to support her
just because she's a woman and gets dressed everyday to get to work!
I will lend my support behind those single "parents" who work 2
sometimes 3 jobs just to support their children! Katie has made tons
of money and will always find a way to do so.

28. Katie is tanking because people want news with their news, not infotainment. Why don't our soldiers have proper armor? How many billions did Haliburton rip off from the taxpayers? What Senators are cheating on their wives? Why can't we afford healthcare? Katie and her ilk tell us that JLo is popular and that Robin Williams is in a funny new movie - is anybody really surprised that America considers her slightly dumber and less trustworthy than Dan Quayle???

30. Sounds like a bunch of jealous women who cannot stand to see a woman who had more success then them and are actually enjoying her failure. Sounds like a bunch of bitter divorced women with very little compassion for anyone. I'm guessing half of the people haven't even watched her newscast. People make mistakes in their career, she's human.
I say to these other women, grow up!
