Katie CouricA divorced women's website wants to rally its readers behind Katie Couric -- to give the struggling widow/newswoman a ratings boost. Women of the world unite -- and watch TV!

Debbie Nigro, who holds the made-up-sounding title of Chief Executive Girlfriend of Firstwivesworld.com, urges all "the other women navigating life solo" to back her up. According to Nigro, it's just simple math: Only 6.1 million people watch Katie every night, but there are over 40 million divorced women. Put down the Snackwells and pick up a remote!

Among the many reasons Katie deserves success, Nigro says, is that she "manages to get dressed and be perky" every day. Preach on sister, preach on!

35. A journalism professor once told his class (I was in the class at the time) that when the reporter becomes the story, as in Couric's case, news objectivity went out the window. That's the case with CBS Evening News. It has no credibility with opinion makers, it's disorganized and, well, flaky. That's Couric's influence.

Give this poor lost woman her own cooking show, or a nice travel show. She'd be great. As a hard news anchor, she just hasn't got the chops. CBS, make the change.

37. Katie has the same problem as Elizabeth Vargas had. Neither convey ANY trust, integrity and gravitas, which are needed for the Evening News. Elizabeth Vargas lost over 1 million viewers on ABC for the same problem. They were lucky they could bring back Charlie Gibson, who has trust, integrity and gravitas, even though he was on the morning news like Katie. Katie is the all time suck up to celebrities/ crime story "journalist" who then doesn't ask them any hard questions. She has no integrity, no one trusts her, and she needs to go.

Why hasn't Les Moonves at CBS been fired for this debacle? His marriage to Julie Chen, a Katie wannabe says it all. All Bob Schieffer did was tell the truth about this disaster, and he was punished.

42. Self absorbed is right. There was a story in the Enquirer recently, where Katie, who makes 15 million dollars a year, told her staff that went to the jeweler to buy a "very special person" a very special present, a diamond watch for HERSELF.
