DiCaprio Saves Earth, Harms Eyes

Leonardo DiCaprio really knows how to ride 'em! First models, now bikes!

The Oscarless greenie was seen on his two-wheeler in New York City's West Village, sporting a tragic fannypack, hideous cargo manpris, and his omnipresent cap and dark glasses. DiCaprio rode, nearly unrecognized, over to the Pink Tea Cup for some Southern eats.

Leo's green docu, "The 11th Hour," will be released next month -- clean up the environment, people! Stop wearing manpris!

17. Wow, RealTruth. DiCaprio didn't say anything about your or your way of life (unless you totally disregard care for the environment, then I'm glad you're offended -- you should be). The fact is that most people drive cars bigger than they need, don't think about the environment as they go about wasting & destroying environmental resources during their daily lives, and they could be making better choices.

I can't ride a bike to do errands due to (a) disability and (b) living in a mountainous rural area. But I do think about the choices I make. I don't make unnecessary trips in my car. I combine trips as much as I possibly can. I bought the most fuel efficient, low emissions vehicle I could afford.

There are big and little things all of us could be doing that don't have to seriously impact our way of life. I've changed 100% of the bulbs in my house to CFLs. I now actually prefer the lighting to incandescents. I use organic substances as much as possible when I clean. This doesn't necessarily using more expensive products -- for example, I clean my Pergo floors with a microfiber mop dampened with water & white vinegar -- it does an awesome job! I use organics to bathe with and then water my potted plants & flowers with the bath water. If I can do it with a disability (legs don't work much anymore), so can you! I've recycled for years -- it's as easy to throw something in a recycling bin as it is to throw garbage away. Do you take your own bags to the market? Not using those petrochemical produced plastic bags alone is a saving to our environment and our oil dependency. I need A/C for health reasons, but it's never set below 74* and I only use it when absolutely necessary. During the winter, my thermostat is set at 58* (sweaters are great inventions). There are soooooooooo many little, easy things that all of us can be doing to leave the world a better place for YOUR kids! I don't have kids -- I do this to leave this a better world for YOUR kids -- would I be better off being selfish and thinking, "what do I care? I don't have kids so I'm just going to live my life and the heck with the future." ??

I grew up in New York City and, when my legs still worked, I walked or biked almost everywhere I went. I walked appx 4 miles to work each morning and did the same for my trip home (great way to start & end the day!) at one job and at a different job where biking was truly pleasant, I biked to work. This isn't DiCaprio telling you how to live your life, it's a New York way of life.

I'm grateful to the "celebrities" who lead by example -- they're helping get the word out. No, everyone can't afford to do the same things that they do, but most can be doing WAY more than they currently do! And like most of us Americans, I suspect that you fall into that category.

18. This is really to much for a person to take. a little bike ride for publicity is not going to change my mind that most of his stance is focused on a cause that allows him to remain distant and safe. He can feel good / look good while doing very little realistically to make an contributing impact on earth. A lot of ego is bad for the environment too.

21. TheRealTruth, I would have to agree with you. Even though I love Leonardo Dicaprio and I am a die hard fan of his and even though he's a nice person and all. I think that him and other celebrities show think about a lot of people who cannot a afford there on transportation and people who live on a monthly budget. I think that him and other celebrities should lay off on people who just can't afford to ride in fuel effcient car like they can. Your comment makes a lot of sense. It was well said.

22. You guys are pathetic, 1st of all those are long cargo shorts and why comment on something so ridiculous as that? He has done more GOOD than bad for the environment. You need to get a life. Write about something INTERESTING for Chrissake! Who CARES what he wears? We are only interested in if he is doing any good for the planet. Concentrate on the planet.

I've been tryin too get a home address from this other actor named Chris Evans who plays as the human torch in the Fantastic Four. I want too know where did you get that info about Leo's street from. Oh by the way, I want to tell you that there is a website that I heard about on the news yesterday. I's caledd intelius.com. I'ts a website where you can find personal info on any one in the world. All you have to do is to type in the person's name and then click search, BUT the bad thing about it is is that you have to pay money when you want to see the person's home address etc.. I hope that this info was really helpful to you. If you find Leonardo DiCaprio's home address and find Chris Evans home address etc. Can you please send it to me? Thanks
