This beauty has nothing to do with the size of their body or their painted skins - it has to do with their attitude, love of self and acceptance. Like it or not we are ALL different. Health has nothing do with with your size - skinny, average and healthy people ALL have illnesses. I find your HATER comments so off base that it speaks so clearly of your ignorance to all things reasonable. Grow up!

BV: You are a hot discussion topic on the Black Voices message boards. On one board, in reference to your “Skinny Women Are Evil” bit, a user posted: “You can’t really ask people to not speak negatively against bigger women, when you’re speaking negatively against another group of women in the process.” Are people misinterpreting what you are saying?

M: Here’s what’s funny. People know exactly what I’m saying. Because at the end of the day I’m saying ‘Love the skin you’re in.’ I don’t care if you’re a size 2, 22 or 52. ‘Skinny Women are Evil’ is a joke! My mother is 5’2” and no more than 100 pounds. It was a joke and an incredible marketing tool. It made big women say, ‘Yes, ‘bout time!’ And it made skinny girls say, ‘What the hell is Mo’Nique talking about?’ For women to think for a second that I dislike smaller women -- baby I love everybody. I’m just willing to be a cheerleader for my fat girls.

BV: What is the proper balance between self-love and health?

M: I exercise almost every day. I enjoy food, so I eat what I want. Do I eat a whole pig at midnight? Of course not! But do I like pigs feet every Christmas holiday? Yes. Do I feel guilty when I eat a piece of chocolate cake? No. Let me go walking and make sure the blood is pumping right. Let me go out here and play basketball for a little while with my son. Just make sure you’re taking care of your body.

BV: You performed the 'Crazy In Love' dance at the BET Awards in 2004 and the “Big Girl Dancers” rocked the opener of 'Mo’Nique’s FAT Chance.' Are you going to take that revue on the road? Is a work out video far behind?

M: I actually have a workout video coming out in January, ‘Mo’Nique’s Voluptuous Workout.’ It’s the real woman’s workout.

246. I think Mo is awesum. Big is beautiful. Least she's not scared to show it off. She's got a wonderful self esteem and great personality. A lot of woman that siaze do not. Because they are hounded and put down because they dont look like the ALL American woman should. What gave people the right to judge anyway?? Society is so cruel. You are who you are. If people can accept that then to hell with them. Getting on here and bashing someone because of there weight is so ignorant. MO could also care less what the hell you think of her. LADIES AS A LASTING POINT.. I AM HEALTHY, MY RECENT BLOODWORK CAME BACK PERFECT AS WELL AS OTHER TESTS..MAMMOGRAM, COLONOSCOPY...I ASKED MY DOCTOR ONCE CAN YOU BE OVERWEIGHT AND HEALTHY...SHE ANSWERED...YES..BUT WHAT CAN HAPPEN COULD BE DIABETES AND OTHER COMPLICATIONS THAT CAN AFFECT YOUR BODY. GETTING HEALTHY IS BETTER... AND IF THAT MEANS SHEDDING SOME POUNDS THEN SO BE IT...IT DOESNT/ MEAN YOU HAVE TO BE A STICK...JUST A LITTLE LESS THICK.........GO BIG LADIES.

250. The fact is that if these women cared anything about negatism that is being presented in this posts, they would have never done it. They care less about negative press. So harrah for Monique! I commend her for her boldness and those women who participated in the show. What is wrong with someone respecting and allowing full figure women to have fun and give them some pride in spite of the fact they are overweight. These are people. If they don't want to lose weight its no one's business but theirs. No one knows what's in a person's background or life which caused them to become the size they are but even so that's who they are, a human being. They have families, bills, responsibilities just like everyone else. They also have the right to compete for a better life no matter what others think. I think they are all tenacious women for doing what they did. I know I couldn't do it and wouldn't but this is just me. I am not slamming them for doing and so as the tradition of Americans, we still are pretty judgemental about people who are different from ourselves. I am sure Monique is not persuaded by negative comments.

252. Being a larger girl myself I have so much respect for these girls considering the fact that I personally know one of them. I was happy to see Jennifer (the one painted like a tiger) get on the show. I went to high school with her (she was a senior when I was a freshmen) and to see how much her son has grown up since I last saw him is amazing. I remember when he was about 1 and she would bring him to every football game because Jennifer was the Captin of the cheer squad in high school. I can't believe how negative you people are. I know Jennifer has embraiced herself the way she is and I can tell how happy she is. I give all these girls credit for putting themselves out there to prove to people the you're beautiful no matter what size you are. I always looked up to Jennifer when I went to high school with her, and after seeing her on this show I look up to her even more and have so much more respect for her now. I wished that she did win but you know what the girl that did win did desieve it. Congrats on all of you beautiful women who did this. You represented us larger girls well.
