WWE: Benoit Passed Our Test

Chris Benoit, WWEThe WWE has issued the following statement concerning the toxicology results in the Chris Benoit case:

WWE understands that the toxicology reports for Chris Benoit indicate that he tested positive for testosterone and negative for anabolic steroids. On Mr. Benoit's last drug test in April 2007 administered by Aegis Labs, he tested negative for anabolic steroids and for testosterone. Given the toxicology report of GBI released today, it would appear that Mr. Benoit took testosterone sometime after his April 2007 test and the time he died. WWE understands that his dealings with Dr. Astin are currently being investigated, and WWE has no knowledge of whether Dr. Astin prescribed testosterone for Mr. Benoit at some point after the April 2007 tests.

For over 20 years, the WWE has been demonstrating our concern for the well being of our contracted athletes, instituting drug testing in 1987 leading up to our current Wellness Program which began on February 27, 2006, administered by Dr. David L. Black of Aegis Sciences Corporation - one of the world's foremost drug testing authorities.

We believe our Wellness Program is at the very least comparable to those of professional sports and is a program that will benefit WWE Superstars for generations to come.

46. The WWE has egg all over it's face now. When Benoit murdered his wife and child they got on tv swearing they were sure he would not have steroids in his blood stream after the toxicology report came back and now it has and he did and they are still trying to deny it. They are contributors to this murder and should be held accountable. People who say that the person should be held accountable need to understand that these men are not the sharpest tool in the shed and they are easily swayed and the WWE knows that and preys on it. If you want to continue to be a wrestler and continue to support your family the WWE pressures you to use steroids. If you don't you are out. Their testing is not legit. Someone needs to ask them this "is it true that you give your wrestlers 2-3 days notice that a test is coming up?" also "is it true that they can re-test a few days later if they want?" If you get to know people that are on the inside they will tell you this is the way it is done. I promise the WWE will choke on those questions!!

47. To the post that said we hate the WWE. No, we don't hate them. But their behavior is like feeding candy to a baby or passing out six packs at an AA meeting. Of course the wrestlers are going to do what they are told cause they know if they do not they will not bring home a paycheck. They encourage steroid use on so many different levels, I've seen it and know!! You do not get that big drinking protein drinks baby.

48. Anyone find it odd that the WWE would try so hard to defend themselves and claim Benoit had no steroid (when now we know he did). It is so obvious it makes me want to vomit--the WWE makes so much money off these steroid popping wrestlers that they will do or say anything to keep their big paychecks coming in. Even if the blood is on their hands and even if an innocent mother and child are savagely murdered. Sad, the WWE needs to be shut down.

50. The solution to this ongoing horrific enterprise is for the feds to file felony criminal federal charges against Vince McMahon first, then go after the hundreds of corrupt medical doctors who continue to contribute to this sort of blatant illegal activitiy. Once the feds are fiished with this most mindless form of "entertainment", professional wrestling will be relegated to the annals of historsy + billionaires like McMahon will be serving decades in federal prison! Then those millions of white trash cretins in America will have to find a new sport, NASCAR might offer an acceptable alternative . LOL

52. From the very start, WWE started spouting off that it had nothing to do with steroids, before anyone really knew much about what happened. They've been trying to cover their own asses from the get-go. It's a bunch of PR BS. I'm not falling for it one bit.

53. I heard there were other drugs found in his system as well, anyone know what they were?

And if there were other drugs how good was the drug testing that he "passed" back in April.

What do they look for steroids only?

I once was a real fan of wrestling until it turned into pure smut I think WWE's days are numbered, at least I hope they are for the sake of so many trying to look like the incredible hulk regardless of their health.

How many others have to die before Vince McMahon realizes that he is setting an unnatural image and body shape that these wrestlers have to achieve in order to stay on top.

56. People have been doing drugs (illegal, legal, steroids, anti-anxiety, etc etc etc) for eons. Not many of them kill their families and then themselves. As much as I admired Benoit, he was obviously very very disturbed and had major demons. As much as everyone would love to blame someone (especially Vince McMahon when so many wrestlers do have issues...but who doesn't? and which "sport" or entertainment world doesn't?)......or blame something (drugs).......usually it's just unfortunately simply the case a person not being able to overcome the Devil.

57. everyone has to remember this was only one part, the autopsy is yet to come, and yes the wwe is guilty not of making the wrestler's take steroids they do that on their own. they are guilty of encouraging it.

58. Wow some people are so stupid. One I have never in any report seen the WWE say they are steriod free or have they ever said that Benoit did have steroids in his system. I like all the people who have never been in a WWE lockerroom that know everything that goes on in them as far as the testing goes. I know of more than one person to get suspended and fired for drug use in the WWE look at Chris Masters, Nick Dinsmore(eugene), Joey Mercury, Jeff Hardy to name a few. The WWE went to a independet drug test policy in Feb. 2006 they have said that time and time again. IS IT POSSIBLE TO PASS A DRUG TEST AND THE NEXT DAY USE AGAIN. Yeah happens all the time in factories, NBA, NFL and all that. I think it is horrible that no one is looking at the fact that his little boy was sedated before he was killed. Why would Benoit have to sedate his own son before he "placed him in a choked hold to kill him"? Why wouldnt he od his son on the sedation drug? Oh wait he was is a steroid rage and we nuts and killed his wife and kid so delibritly and methodically that it isnt funny. Maybe it was a triple homicide after all. As far as teh 100+ wrestlers that have died in this business they are almost all from 10-20 years ago when the wrestling life style was about drugs and alcohol, they have even said that the wrestling business have become more corporate. I can attest to that most of the places that I have wrestled in have been to where they expect you to conduct yourself in a professional manner. Are the WWE perfect? No. Are they as bad as everyone makes them out to be No way everyone is quick to talk about how Vince is responsible for every bad thing that happens but never ever give him praise for what he does to bring happiness to the troops that are unjustly in Iraq right now. I did see his company all over the Entertainment news shows talking about what a great thing it is that he does that. Go figure everyone need a scape goat and Vince always gets the finger pointed in his direction when something goes wrong. Is the post office responsible for all the deaths from the carriers that went nuts and shot everyone that they worked with? Nope no one says the head of the US postal service should be charged with blah blah blah. Vince gets treat that way and it is sad all I can say is I would work for the man in a heart beat. You may not agree with him and neither do I all the time but I wouldnt turn down a chance to live my dream and make a great living at it.

59. people who support the wwe get a clue if you thank the jackass called vince could pass a drug test your brain dead.so if he runs the wwe and does steroids himself why would any one trust the wwe.and take note the wwe came out the next day stating no steroids befor any thing was released.and they tried to blame the family peronal problems and the son mental issue which is a lie the wwe has no class.they will cover up anything to protect the program.please take note all the stars who died be for 40,do you really trust their test?take care duane
