Dourdan's B.S. Statement

7/18/2007 8:53 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Gary DourdanStill too pissed off to speak with TMZ, Gary Dourdan's reps released (to another media outlet) a sorry excuse for an official explanation of Dourdan's vicious attack on a TMZ cameraman last night.

Despite video evidence of Dourdan beating and then chasing our photographer, the coward's people blamed TMZ, saying, "Gary has always been respectful of the media and the paparazzi but also values his privacy. It's our belief that this is a minor incident exaggerated by an eager paparazzo in order to create a story."

Sure, our photog was eager to have his head repeatedly slammed into the ground. Watch the video again -- it speaks for itself.

"If you're standing on public property, you can shoot anything the naked eye can see, explains Ken Kobre, professor of photojournalism at San Francisco State University and author of one of the seminal textbooks on the subject.

"What you can't do, he says, is use a telephoto lens and take shots through office windows or into private residences, where people would have a "reasonable expectation of privacy." That would be like eavesdropping or surreptitiously taping someone, he says."

It appears the actor and photog were on a public sidewalk and the photog could take whatever photos or video he wanted. The photog didn't chase the guy. The actor could have easily left the scene or gone into the club, which had a sign stating "no cameras allowed."

He can do whatever he wants to anyone and then just play the race card and get Al and Jesse out on another Tirade about how bad blacks got it in todays society.

Let their people go.

Now you draw the line?! The Dourdan video is "too much", but no one coming to this site thought it was it too much to show Nick Nolte rolling around on the floor of an airport or all the other video and photos of pathetic celebrities making fools of themselves on this site.

You're all hypocrites! You're the consumers of what the papparazzi pursue. If you're disgusted with them, then reserve a healthy dose of that judgment for yourself.

I personally think that TMZ's cameramen tend to go too far and often provoke incidents like these. I would get pissed off if I had cameramen following my every move too - the downside of being a celebrity. I think all papparazzi have this coming to them when they start this line of work...

STALKING people is NOT "reporting", "news" or "even cool". It's sick. I'm glad this "Gary" got his a$$ whipped by this guy. If a celeb asked NOT to be STALKED - then STOP. Respect. You can hear the real paparzzi telling "Gary" to turn the camera off, point it away, they also tell the "victim" that the TMZ tool is new. Basically TMZ is trying to cause a scene as usual. Gary is either a total f*ckup or a total fool. Either case - I hope he learned his lesson. Respect people. Especially people who make more money cutting a fart once than you and your entire family will in the next 500 years.

If "Gary" is going to be such a little b*tch , then assigned his lame beatup butt to the z-list celebs who pay stalkers - I mean TMZ photoags (and others) to follow them - like Paris, Brody Jenner, Kristin Cavallari, Spencer & Heidi's boobs.

They will welcome him with open arms and in Kristin's case - open legs....

Jeezub TMZ!!!

LET IT GO ALREADY!!!

So the guy wigged out, who the hell can blame him after being followed continuously by paps- yours included?!?!?!

Considering how many times you've posted reports on this ONE incident compared to how imposed he's felt by your Pap's alone, I'd have to call this match very much in favor to Mr. Dourdan!

Get over yourselves TMZ. For crying out loud!!

This idiot "celebrity" likely just cost himself his acting career.

I love the fact that he claims "all the cops are my friends." Oh boy...the city is going to love hearing that. Any judge would LOVE to have this case to use this "actor" as a slap in the face.

The facts are this.

The photographer can film anything he choses to film. He can film the cracks in a sidewalk. He can film what is happening in a business, a car driving down the street, or a criminal "actor" whom is pissed off apparently because he had to 'fire" somebody a few moments earlier.

Here's a piece of advice for these Hollywood "actors." You all claim to be "role-models" and say you are the victim of Paparazzi's. The actions by this moronic idiot speak volumes. The Paparazzi is the victim in this case, which only makes Hollywoods argument that they are right and the Paps are wrong a moot point.

To the people that defend this idiotic, insane criminal. Were you this outraged when the Paps captured Britney Spears shaving her own hair off?

No, of course you weren't pissed about that because it gave you the right to pick on somebody who is unpopular as of the moment. You people who defend this crooks actions are two-faced and have no spine.

Later,

Josh from
