Nick Nolte Crashes in Hawaiian Airport

Dripping in sweat and barely able to keep his bloodshot eyes open, a handlebar-mustached Nick Nolte stunned travelers at the Kauai Airport this week -- by passing out cold on the terminal floor!

TMZ obtained these photos taken by one of Nolte's fellow passengers, who told us that the incoherent actor drifted in and out of consciousness on the airport floor for more than two hours Monday night, after their flight was delayed because of engine problems.

According to the source, Nolte was still extremely friendly despite his groggy state -- chatting celeb mugshots -- click to launchwith fans and allowing passengers to snap photos, however, he wasn't entirely functional. "At one point we helped him put a dollar in the vending machine."

Calls to Nolte's rep were not immediately returned.

436. I honestly do not see the humor in this. I feel sad for him. People - rich, poor, famous, not famous, all have trobles. Rather than ignor them or laugh at them why the hell don't people help others when they see such things? It is sad that many people have no concern for others. We ask ourselves daily "What has happened to our world?" Look in the mirror... ask yourself if you are part of the problem? God help us all!

439. He was so handsome in "The Deep" a movie from the 70's. It had Jaclyn Bisset in it. You guys should watch it it was a really, really good movie. He used to be so damn handsome. What happened Nick? I do feel for this guy though. He must be going through some rough times and has a hard time handling it. He does seem like an alright guy, just a little down on his luck is all.

440. It's sad that the people are smiling like they think it's funny and it's sad that some people need to brag about the fact that they stepped over him because they didn't have time for it and have to point out that they think it's funny. What has happened to human beings?

442. Like AA, I do believe when you are drinking addictively, you do have a disease. It's called substance addiction. But once you are sober for at least a year, you have cured the disease. If you start again, you are diseased again, like any recurring affliction. AA insists you are diseased for life, and I find that such a negative thought process, it is counterproductive. I've been to meetings where people 20-years sober, still say they have a disease and bring up their past mistakes. I drank for 27-years, went to AA mettings, was always so depressed afterwards, I stopped to buy a bottle. On my own, and it was easier than I figured it would be, I've been sober for 11 1/2 years. I'm much more forward thinking than AA. Screw the past, it only brings guilt, which is a negative emotion, as is telling yourself you're sick when you're not.

443. I was at the Kauai airport when Nick came through. He was right behind us in line. He acted very appropriate, even though he was searched and frisked more them most of the other passengers. He was very nice to one of my family, shook hands and let him take a picture. It was 10 PM at night and all the gates were packed with people. My family of 8 had all been drinking and body surfing on our last day prior to coming to the airport. It was very hot and muggy. We laid down on the floor at our gate too as there was no where to sit for the hour plus wait. How come no one reported us passed out or took pictures? Probbly because we aere acting normal after a blow out vacation. I think Nick Nolte was not that blotto and only got bad press coause he is famous!!

444. I was at the Kauaii airport on July 19 and saw Nick Nolte enter the gate for a flight leaving for LA. I am very upset at the comments that have been said about him. He walked perfectly normal and even heard him carrying on a conversation with someone who may have knowh him. If he was drunk, I would not have taken my nine year old daughter and 11 year old neice to take a picture of me and Mr. Nolte. He was very nice and did not seem drunk. I feel that he was sitting on the floor for some privacy and possible rest.

Security is extremely tight and would not have let anyone who is drunk pass through all the securities at the airport. The airport security are extremely careful about who passes through their gates!

My entire family was traveling and none of us felt that he was drunk. We feel very disappointed that the woman who took pictures of Mr. Nolte (some without his permission) turned around a made a few bucks by selling his pictures.

I guess celebrities have to watch out for not only the paparzazzi but also selfish citizens who take advantage of a situation and even lie about the situation to create more drama. Shame on you!!

446. Whoever thinks that you can cure alcoholism after being sober for a year is a nitwit. You NEVER CURE alcoholism or drug addiction. It is always there and there is always the chance of relapse. The more unhappy you are with life, the bigger chance of relapse. I don't know where you get your information........Larry......but it's wrong. God help anyone in your life who falls victim to addiction, I can bet they won't be able to count on your support after the first year.

447. I still don't understand why no one tried to help him. He is a human being and instead people are walking over him, taking pictures, laughing at him????
Reports I read say he was on the terminal floor for over two hours!

Why didnt anyone offer to help or just help the poor man, instead of either ignoring him or pointing and laughing??!?!?

448. "God Bless Nick???" "Poor thing?" "It must be rough handling wealth and fame?"

What a truckload of absolute crap comments.

How about facing the TRUTH? A self-absorbed, self induced, refusal to use impuse control, FEELINGS based celebrity.

How about the FACT that he wakes up every damm day and CHOOSES to blow up his life. The amount of good he COULD do in the world is ignored.
The MONEY & FAME he could have used to help HIMSELF and OTHERS work together to stay clean, is all wasted.
If he's that "troubled" with what-the-hell-to-do-with-his-life.....why doesn't he head down to New Orleans and put the hammer to some nails and help with the rebuilding???

He's already been down this road dozen's of times.

"Once you know better, you do better."

Caution: The MAJORITY of comments on this issue require "hip boots" for wading through "solid material."

449. There's going to be a generation of celebrities that doesn't make it to their 40's/50's. And for what . . .because this nation worships them and their money, just like sports figures.

If we stop going to movies, stop going to sports events, stop being 'fanatics', that help them feed their addictions, we might have a chance to make a difference. It's obvious the addicts we pay money to see 'perform' have no guts or insight to stop themselves.

Once an addict, always an addict. Sobriety does not come easily and to maintain it, they need their fans to stop paying to see them. What a concept.
