According to the source, Nolte was still extremely friendly despite his groggy state -- chatting celeb mugshots -- click to launchwith fans and allowing passengers to snap photos, however, he wasn't entirely functional. "At one point we helped him put a dollar in the vending machine."

451. #454 Cyrus---thank you for your first hand account. It's a relief to know he didn't relapse.

452. Whatever the reason he was behaving that way, I think someone should have gotten him help. The problem may have been drugs or booze but could also have been a diabetetic incident, or prescribed medicine reaction, whichever, someone should have called security, for his own safety.

454. I was at the Kauaii airport on July 19 and saw Nick Nolte enter the gate for a flight leaving for LA. I am very upset at the comments that have been said about him. He walked perfectly normal and even heard him carrying on a conversation with someone who may have knowh him. If he was drunk, I would not have taken my nine year old daughter and 11 year old neice to take a picture of me and Mr. Nolte. He was very nice and did not seem drunk. I feel that he was sitting on the floor for some privacy and possible rest.

Security is extremely tight and would not have let anyone who is drunk pass through all the securities at the airport. The airport security are extremely careful about who passes through their gates!

My entire family was traveling and none of us felt that he was drunk. We feel very disappointed that the woman who took pictures of Mr. Nolte (some without his permission) turned around a made a few bucks by selling his pictures.

I guess celebrities have to watch out for not only the paparzazzi but also selfish citizens who take advantage of a situation and even lie about the situation to create more drama. Shame on you!!

456. I wish I could have been there to help him. I certainly wouldn't have let him sleep on the floor. I would have bundled him up back to a hotel & took care of him. Then become good buddies & his personal assistant. God know's he needs one.
He picked a good place to be drunk in public it's totally laid back in Kauai.
Hey Nick.write me! lol

457. I'm not sure these photos really reflect what was actually happening. I talked to Nick while he was on Kauai, and while he looked very disheveled, he was very lucid and friendly. He was here filming Tropic Thunder and he just may be 'into the role'. I guess we'll have to wait and see what part he played.

459. I hope he gets back on his feet; and can get back to work. I think most people can not realize the stress related to being a star.

461. I think it's sad when people get to the point that we (they) would walk over anyone in distress. I'm not a doctor. I've known people with illnesses like diabetes that would lead you to think they were drunk or high when they are really in a crisis. How hard does your heart have to be to walk over or sit idlely by with someone near you like that? What else would you be willing to witness and ignore? Shame on us all... those who don't care and those who allow them to be so callous.

462. OMG.... In the first place Nick Nolte is a wonderful man and actor. Why is it when people see this kind of trajedy, they just walk away or laugh at them. I don't think it's funny at all. We are supposed to be Americans and help each other. Nobody deserves this!!!! Why didn't someone help him out by getting security. Isn't he human? I would not treat a dog this badly. Nick I don't know the situation why you were in this condition, but I care and hope you all the best!!
