Nick Nolte Crashes in Hawaiian Airport

Dripping in sweat and barely able to keep his bloodshot eyes open, a handlebar-mustached Nick Nolte stunned travelers at the Kauai Airport this week -- by passing out cold on the terminal floor!

TMZ obtained these photos taken by one of Nolte's fellow passengers, who told us that the incoherent actor drifted in and out of consciousness on the airport floor for more than two hours Monday night, after their flight was delayed because of engine problems.

According to the source, Nolte was still extremely friendly despite his groggy state -- chatting celeb mugshots -- click to launchwith fans and allowing passengers to snap photos, however, he wasn't entirely functional. "At one point we helped him put a dollar in the vending machine."

Calls to Nolte's rep were not immediately returned.

46. I was an extra when he made Weeds in 1986, and Nolte was very nice to us "little people".
He even gave me his autograph too which we were not supposed to get either. I hope he gets some help for his drinking problem. He was fond of Budweisers in the can back then, but he truly is a nice man.

47. Why wasn't Nick arrested...forced re-hab might be the one thing to save him. Yes...when it hasn't worked in the past you try re-hab over and over again. People want to help with kindness...that doesn't work. He needs tough kick-in-the-butt love.

49. You know it says something about our society that we see a person in this condition (whether they are famous or not) and just laugh, take pictures and step over him. What is wrong with us anymore?

It makes me sick at heart. I wonder if he had stopped breathing, how long it would have taken for anyone to notice....or care.

50. TERRIBLY SAD TO SEE A VERY TALENTED MAN , OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER, RUINED BY ALCOHOL. AND WHY DIDN'T THE AIRPORT AUTHORITIES REMOVE HIM FROM THE PUBLIC VIEW? IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE DECENT THING TO DO.

54. Did any of you super bright people stop to think that maybe the poor guy had to get dosed to fly?
LOTS of people do that when they have to take a plane. The flight was delayed, so instead of being all relaxed in his first class seat for five or six hours, Nick hit the floor.

56. No, it's NOT funny, it's really sad. I will never understand people who get kicks out other people's misery. Shame on whoever took these pics, and shame on everyone who thinks it's funny.

57. It's sad that this is what our country has come too. We take delight in someone else's misery. Instead of stepping up and trying to get him some help, we sit back and laugh at him on a website. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

58. Poor thing. From the looks of it he seems, at the very least, like a nice drunk --- sort of like David Hasselhoff. I feel so bad for nice alcoholics, but have no sympathy for the mean ones. I wonder why he was all alone at the airport......

59. Linda is ABSOLUTELY right and so is Lizabeth! It's real funny until someone close to you has this disease and YES it is a disease A HORRIBLE ONE! Watching your loved one drift in and out of conciousness, real funny!

I hope you are one of the lucky ones who never has to deal with it as it is truly awful.
Amazing how no one bothers to help, famous or not. I bet there were plenty who asked for an autograph though. Makes me sick
