Usher F**ks With the Wrong Fan

Usher Raymond is determined to sanitize all the Usher news around, even if he's got to strong-arm his biggest fan site with legal action in order to keep it that way. But the webmaster of the site tells TMZ she's willing to slug it out in court with her fave R&B star, just to make her point.
Usher
Erika Jackson, webmaster of usherforever.com, tells TMZ that she's been hit with a full-scale legal blitz from a tag-team of both Usher's personal lawyer and his label's lawyers, and claims that the trouble started earlier this year when she refused to turn her site -- the self-proclaimed "biggest Usher site" on the Internet -- into a sanitized official site. (The legal threats were first reported by the New York Daily News.)

Not long after, says Jackson, the lawyers tried to bring the hammer down on her, demanding that she "assign the url usherforever.com" to LaFace Records, Usher's label, because it might confuse fans into thinking that it had an affiliation to Usher. Jackson points out that other sites -- like Usher.net and UsherRaymond.org -- that are closer in name to the singer -- haven't been accused of being "confusing."

Usher attacked the media and even fans last week in an open letter to People, saying that speculation about his relationship with fiancee Tameka Foster and the reported firing of his mom as manager were "disturbing." A defiant Jackson says that she won't lay down and that she's prepared to go to court with Usher.

Neither Usher's label rep nor his lawyer responded to requests for comment.

31. WTF is Usher? Really. Should I have heard of him? If he is one of these talentless rappers (excuse the redundancy) or this a purveyor is this crap they now call R&B, never mind.

34. he probably dog fights with the Thug Michael Vick... This is what happens when fame goes to your head and you have too many YES PEOPLE surrounding you... Anyone who cuts their mom out over a chick is a fool.

36. He can not kick everyone's ass that is teasing him about marrying that skank. She must have some good pictures blackmailing him. How can a guy go home to a skank like that each day?

37. Good for Usher! He's sending a message...you can't lie and slander someone just because they're famous. Ericka Jackson will lose in court. The judge will see her as an opportunist trying to cash in on someone else's fame! It will be a happy day when the federal government steps in and shut down some of these TRASHY web site.
The general public is getting tired of TRASH, NON-CIVILITY, and SMUT!

38. C. Melton must work for Tameka.

This is what happens when the career of a superstar is handed over to an inexperienced stylist to manage. It is also evidence that Usher, much like Brittney, has no idea how to manage himself. He is pulling a Barack Obama on a fan who has a low opinion of his fiance that she doesn't even know. I know the comments probably hurt Miss Tameka's feelings, but do they really think they can make it go away? STOP READING IT TAMEKA. If she really loves this man she will stop destroying his career. And she wonders why Usher's mom and fans don't like her? Get a clue and take that root off Usher girl. Will you still want him when his music career is ruined?

39. C. Melton,

What are the lies and slander on the site? Are people not allowed to have opinions? You will support Usher, a man who works with R. Kelly, a child molester, and makes money off of sex in his videos, but a person who doesn't like a relationship that he is in is horrible? That's an interesting mindset.

You know there are a lot of sites that aren't positive to famous people. Sorry but if you want to be famous, you have to deal with the bad things that come along with that fame.

40. If the people (fans) suddenly STOP SUPPORTING these rich, spoiled people, by NOT buying CD's, tickets, t-shirts, etc ,etc, etc, then maybe they will get the HINT that they CHOSE to be famous, and therefore, are considered PUBLIC FIGURES who are subject to the same privacy issues as the rest of us... basically none! If I had a bodyguard and wanted to cross the street by a club, would USHER move out of my way? I think not! It's up to all of us to put them in their place and remove the "star status" with these "culture vultures".. We made them, we can break them. They need to be reminded of that! ALL OF THEM! I hope she takes him to court! And I hop she WINS and sends a message to ALL THE OTHER celebs that they are nothing more than the people that WE MADE THEM!

42. Who does he think he is? He is not that important! I cant stand these celebs thinking they are the almighty to many and can pick and choose sensor, spin and control everything around them.
The amount of fans they loose with crap like this can't be worth it.
It eventually effects their bank balance which I do think they care about..
If she starts a legal fund to help her fight I'm in.

43. why is this such a big issue? the internet is full of crap like this for every celebrity you can think of. earlier today i came across a site that discusses how tall celebrities are (or aren't.)

this is simply a case of this guy trying to keep his name in the paper and giving a fan some grief at the same time.

Usher, get over it. let the people say what they want. its a free country. you're just gonna end up losing money. its not worth it.

Posted at 11:22PM on Jul 19th 2007 by who really cares?

44. This whole Usher thing is really annoying me. I'm sorry, but I could never chose any man over my mother. (I am a female!) The fact still remains that this chick [Tameka] was a single mother of 3 who is 10 years older than him. Aside from that, she's been married once, and he was the ultimate cause of her marriage collapsing. All that time alone on the road brought them closer and closer. He lost my respect when he fired his mother because she warned him. When are people going to learn--famous or not--mother always knows best. I'm going to laugh when she leaves him and takes all of his money. Then, he will become a has-been. I use to respect and like Usher. That was up until 2004 when he started singing about cheating on Rozonda "Chili" Thomas. Now, I have a strong dislike towards him. You won't catch me downloading his music on Itunes, buying his concert tickets, or supporting his lifestyle in any way. Usher, you have lost another fan. Me. I hope you and Tameka are happy. I hope she is worth losing your career, fans, and the respect people have/had for you.

I totally agree with your post. I am sick of all of them because of a whining snivling few who feel they have some additional rights the rest of us were not issued.. I'm also real tired of Celebs who blame their "people".
( my lawyer/Agent/Gardner did it gosh I didnt know)
If they are not responsible enough to over see their own affairs they are not grown up enough to have my respect or money.
